This is truly a neighborhood gem. If it was more centrally located, with easier parking, it would be packed. The selection of small and large plates makes for grate sharing and having one's own. Several people loved the soup special. Excellent beer and wine choices. We will go again and again and again. Once we are back to using the "T" that will take less time than finding a parking place!

We went on the Friday of a holiday weekend. It was pretty empty. We ordered the following small plates: grilled octopus, mushroom ravioli, and gnocchi. Each plate was delicious. We also ordered draft beer and cider which we enjoyed. The service was very good. We would definitely go there again.

This place is a hidden gem in Allston. The food is the best I have in Boston, and I have been living in Boston for over 8 years now! Also its never too crowded, they have light music in the background so you can have actual conversation with friends. Good selection of wine and beer. Love this place! Thank you

The Glenville Stops is an absolute gem. One of the top 10 restaurants in Boston. Located in an unassuming college neighborhood, TGS delivers innovative and diverse dishes with locally sourced fresh ingredients. Their beer and wine list has perfectly curated selections that pair perfectly with any plate you order. Also noteworthy is their vast Trappist Ale selection. Go if you haven't, go again if you have.

I hesitate to write a review for this place, because this restaurant is one of Allston’s best kept secrets and I want it all to myself. But, alas, after 5 yrs. of exceptional service (we love you Erica) and unmatched quality control, it is finally time. This place deserves my little review, and so much more.In a nutshell, Glenville Stops is one of the best date night places in Boston. It’s the place you bring a keeper because, once you go, you’ll want to be a regular. (We are.)Why? Everything about GS feels reliable and steady, like a good relationship.- The food is affordable. Glenville Stops serves up $20 dinners at like $12 prices, so you can actually go there and have a good time without feeling broke and guilty at the end. (Personally, I love the chicken confit sandwich. My husband gets the burger.)- The drinks are good and they have an excellent selection. GS only serves beer and wine, but they’re all good. (We can say that because we’ve tried like half the drink menu.)- The ambiance is perfect. It’s nestled in a neighborhood, so there isn’t a ton of traffic and it’s never super loud/ noisy. You can actually hear your date, which I feel is the most important part of any date. The lights are kept low, but not too dark that you can’t see anything. And they light your table with a candle, so the whole thing feels very intimate and special.- The service is great. 9/10 we’re greeted by Erica. She’s efficient. She remembers us and our orders. She’s just superb. Please treat her (and everyone there) well!- It’s reliable. I’ve never had a long wait. You can also reserve a table in advance. Mike, the owner, will call ahead to confirm. In conclusion: This place is just the bees knees. I’ve celebrated special events (including many birthdays) here, as well as dined here for countless weeknight date nights. I’ve even ran into my friends on their weeknight date night here. This place is a gem. A diamond in the rough. It’s not super flashy or even instagrammable, but I feel like that’s a good thing: it’s a place where you can, should and DO focus on the loved ones you share a table with. And to me, well, that’s the most important part.

AMBIENCE: - When we walked in it looked had the ambience of a sad empty dive bar. Kind of how you feel when you walk past your favorite bar and it's so weird seeing it in the day time. SERVICE/SAFETY: - Great service. The waitress was lovely and the food came at a good pace (there was only 1 other table with us when we were there). FOOD/DRINKS: - $1 Rising Tides Cape-Select Oysters (Every day 5-6PM) = walking into the place (again, it could pass as a cheap dive bar) had me a little reserved about these $1 oysters but they came out super fresh! They were also a decent size and such a good deal that we ordered 12 each person. Be sure to order them quick since it only lasts 1 hr! - Wild Mushroom Ravioli = delicious. I love mushroom raviolis. These were cooked to a nice texture and the inside was cheesy and creamy. The truffle just wafted across the table and made us almost lose interest in the oysters. We loved it so much we wish it was not an appetizer but a full entre. - Charred Octopus = The octopus was cooked well and not too chewy but nothing too special. The bed of bean salad it sat on was a bit bland and we didn't care too much for it OVERVIEW: - Come for those $1 oysters! Great size and super fresh!

Absolutely a hidden gem! My girlfriend lived in Brookline for a year and we were lucky enough to discover this spot early. The oyster happy hour is what brought us here and the food/ambiance/service is what kept us coming back! The Oysters were amazing, and the dishes were interesting and tasteful. We now live on the west coast and are still constantly talking about how we would be visiting Glenville Stops the next chance we get. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Great beer and burger. 10 min walk from our place!

Never disappoints! Very classy place in a nondescript part of Allston. Doesn't take itself too seriously. Huge wine selection pairs well it's timeless entree menu.

This was the first time we've been back in since 2019, and it was AMAZING. My chicken was so spectacularly delicious that I ate the whole thing, when I'd figured I'd have to take half home. The crispy potatoes on the side were perfect, as was the grilled asparagus our server suggested when I asked for a substitute for the ratatouille. My partner enjoyed his burger, and service was spot-on. I'm so glad they're still here and can't wait to go back! (Also - such a great deal!)

Went there for dinner and the place was really wonderful. Our server was fantastic. He gave us honest, and great suggestions for their menu. I had the Petite Filet Mignon and Charred Octopus served promptly and the food taste really delicious. Our server was more than happy to make this alteration to my order, and it was appreciated. All three of us dining were very happy with our meals. Great portion sizes and all were very flavorful. Well worth the visit. Would definitely dine here again.

I visited this... house?... on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Nice wine and beer selection for a place so neatly hidden. (They actually have mead!) Some of the best service I've had in Boston, and probably the best in all of Allston. Portion size was good. Food was decent and choices were surprisingly good. Small plates *are* small and large plates are large. Price adequate to service and food quality. Kinda wish I'd discovered them sooner. Definite go-to place if I wasn't leaving the region.

Always great food, and they put our family in the quieter side room, which was perfect. Oysters for $1 between 5 and 6 makes it worth it to hit this place up on the early side of the evening. Excellent all they way around.

Went for dinner. Ordered the steak frites. Among the worst steak I've ever had. Fries were great. The rest of the food my group ordered was equally disappointing, especially for the price we paid ($200 with tip). Beer list was decent, even though there was an emphasis on niche Belgium beers. Service was slow but fine. Atmosphere was sleepy. Not sure I'll be back.

Came here with my boyfriend. The location is sorta hidden in the neighborhood with no other business around but the food is really good. Love the draft beer here!
