tora is a reliably tasty dining spot, especially if you go during the weekday lunch where they have specials for the price of $15-$17.

the food is visually appealing, they have a diverse array of options, and the restaurant is nice, but it does not fall into the extraordinary.

my dish was as expected — yummy, yes, but not mindblowing. i would not be willing to pay more than $16 for a meal here.

Overpriced, portions are tiny, and tastes mediocre.

I added extra meat but the meal was still tiny. Barely 1 Asian portion, maybe 0.7 American portion. $20 pre-tip & tax.

On chashudong there was only rice and meat, which is not an authentic chashudong. There was no sauce (tsu-yu) on the rice, so the rice was bland.

Also, a small spider jumped onto my neck first which jumped into my bowl.

Had a sashimi rice bowl here — super fresh and tasty.
Fish was really good quality.
Place is small, though, and gets pretty loud with a crowd.
Staff were nice and service was fast.
The soy sauce was a bit too salty for me.

Despite the fact they have a poke bowl outside the restaurant, they refuse to sell it on weekends. It's false and deceptive advertising

I had a fantastic experience at this Japanese restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome with warm smiles and attentive service

The food was fresh and beautifully presented — every dish was flavorful. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations, which made choosing dishes so much easier.

Very disappointed. The staff had a terrible service mind—rude. I expected much better and definitely won’t be coming back. Avoid if you care about service.

An unforgettable experience. I absolutely love this place every time I visit Boston.

This intimate spot is Boston’s first kaisendon specialist—think fresh sashimi over perfectly seasoned rice.

They also offer poke bowls, nigiri, and other rice dishes, all at reasonable prices  . With friendly, straightforward service and consistently high quality, it’s a top pick for a quick sushi‑style lunch .
