Really delicious food and casual + friendly atmosphere. We tried different dishes and the flavors are like nothing we've ever tried before--really enjoyable experience and an instant favorite. We especially appreciated that they had a vegetarian menu, so it made it easy to try all sorts of food. Another plus is that you can buy some of the foods to go as they have an assortment of pre-packaged foods to bring home, like balachaung (a topping we ordered for the food that was super delicious).Vegetarian options: Had a separate vegetarian only menu, easy to choose from.Kid-friendliness: Very casual atmosphere, great for families and kids (as long as kids enjoy the food!)

Went on a Saturday afternoon, and it was empty. The interior has a lot of cultural decorations. They also have a mini shop selling merch and some ingredients for their dishes. Our server was friendly, and the food was brought out in waves, in a reasonable amount of time.- Pickled Tea Salad ($12.85): Had to get this because it is one of their signature dishes. It was a bit too salty, but I enjoyed it overall, especially the crunchiness of the nuts. However, the price is expensive relative to the preparation effort (also considering that you can buy the ingredients from their in-store shop for cheaper).- Chicken Plata ($9.75): The flatbread was very good. It was kind of like a thinner scallion pancake. The curry was also pretty good.- Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup ($14.25): The broth was creamy with a deep coconut flavor. The noodles were soft and had a starchy aftertaste. The chicken was overly salted and not plentiful, and the egg was just there.- Golden Chicken Noodles ($14.25): This was basically a brothless version of the Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup.- Rainbow Chicken Noodles ($14.25): This was a unanimous favorite of the noodle dishes. The sauce was slightly sweet with a subtle kick. My friend also paid an extra $2 for a chicken fritter. I did not try it, but she said it was crispy and good.- Rangoon Iced Tea ($4.99): I did not try this either, but my friend liked it—said it tasted like Hong Kong milk tea. They sell the powder for this in their in-store shop as well.Overall, the food was pretty good but didn't quite live up to my expectations after all of the hype that I had heard. I also feel like the prices could be cheaper. However, Yoma is still worth checking out if you're in the area!

Good chefs, flavorful dishes. Although there has been attention on the decor and it looks like a restaurant, the absence of service is more like a food court and using the central aisle for groceries is odd. Dishes served in melamine plates on a tray (which the staff leaves at your table??), get water yourself, uncomfortable seating by the window (curved bench facing a square table), each guest gets a different version of the menu (??). The food is fine, the rest needs some work. Suitable for delivery or takeout, pass on dine-in.

I got the Mandalay noodles and the tamarind drink. It fills me up. Perfect portion size. I just wish there was more chicken in there. I did order an extra roasted chicken on it. It still wasn't really enough. It tasted great tho. I would recommend putting some of the hot oil in for the perfect spice level, if you're into that.Parking: You have to find street parking. It's Boston.

I loved this place. So many vegetarian options that were delicious. The coconut soup with tofu and the pumpkin curry were out of this world. Also the owner is super nice! Love this

Delightful hole in the wall spot for quality Burmese food! If you have never tried Burmese food, I highly recommend it for anyone who is a fan of Thai and Vietnamese flavors. The tea leaf salad is a must try with lots of interesting flavors and textures. While it isn't quite as authentic as a few of ones I've had at other Burmese restaurants, the flavors are still delicious. The plata bread is very good but you only get 1 piece per order which was a bit disappointing. The rainbow noodles were a bit spicy but had a lot of great flavors. The garlic chicken noodle was another favorite of mine - I couldn't get enough of the chewy texture of the noodles. We ended up spending about $60 for the 4 dishes but it was enough to feed 4 people with a moderate appetite. The restaurant is very casual. You order up front and pick a table. Everything is self-serve and the food came out quickly. They also had a few snacks and items you can buy to take home and cook your own Burmese food. Only street parking is available so you'll need to be lucky to find a spot.

This was one of the best new restaurants we've tried in a while. Absolutely delicious, home cooked food for a very reasonable price point. For those who have never had Burmese food, we agreed that it reminded us of a combination of Thai and Vietnamese food... had elements we love from Thai curry, aromatic Vietnamese with emphasis on mixing textures. If you love those cuisines you will surely love this. The iced milk tea was strong and delicious -- finished it too quickly! We were impressed by everything we ordered and bought a jar of the pickled tea salad dressing on our way out. Service was excellent, the ambiance was pleasant, casual and welcoming. What a beautiful spot to experience Burmese cuisine. Yoma is a gem in the Boston area and we will definitely return.

Very unique, homey comfort food. We came here for dinner on a pretty cold windy day and I was looking for a noodle soup to warm up. Ended up ordering the rainbow noodles - delicious but no broth. Next time I'd get the spicy chicken noodle soup. The best I can describe the flavor is sort of similar to Chinese peanut sauce or sesame noodles, the same nutty flavors. Really loved all the different textures, especially the jiggly chickpea tofu, which was my first time eating. And the three different kinds of noodles! If you love noodles, you should definitely come here. My other favorite thing we ordered was the pickled tea salad. I was envisioning something very sour and acidic but it was so delicious. The flavor is hard to pin down but it's a lot of seeds and crunchiness. A must get and probably very refreshing in the summer. Food came out a little slowly even though we were one of two tables but they're also running busy takeout orders. You order at the front and they being out your food. Remember to bring your trays and dishes back to the counter! PARKING: In a word, tough. Try Hano Street off Cambridge. Don't park in the Walgreens lot, we saw a tow truck circling around.

I stopped by here with a friend for dinner and was surprised to see the place completely empty (it was a holiday so I'm sure that explains it)! The ordering process is a bit strange, you can either view/order on your phone using their QR code or go up to the counter and order there. We opted for the latter, and the host told us that he would bring our food out to us when it was ready. A few minutes later, he brought out everything all at once. I ordered their iced milk tea, chicken plata, and chicken coconut soup dishes. The drink was refreshing and not too sweet, and was definitely something I'd order again. The chicken plata was simple, yet delicious. The bread was flaky and chewy, unlike anything I've had before, and the plata itself had a great combination of flavors. I also really enjoyed the coconut chicken soup, which reminded me more of ramen than soup. The broth was hearty and rich, and I thought the toppings added a great touch. Considering the prices, I think this place is a good deal.. it's unique and will leave you feeling stuffed! I'd love to try some of their other food here, everything sounded great.

TLDR: lovely unique food Not a ton of Burmese restaurants in Boston so come for a unique food. Highlights for me are their unique salads. We did the tea and mango which were phenomenal. Place seems like mom and pop so support local!

The Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup and Mohinga are my favorites! The food is so good and the prices are reasonable.

Noodles too soft and curry too watery. Tea salad was pretty good though.
