Five of us went for an early dinner. Everything was exceptionally fresh and delicious. The pita bread is to die for. We ordered Latkes (nice and crisp, very good); chicken shawarma (delicious-- love the pickled vegetables in the pita sandwich); the lamb burger (my husband can't stop talking about how good it was); the hummus bowl, and the street cart rice bowl. In short, everything was excellent AND affordable (something that rarely happens in the Boston area these days). We will be coming back, frequently. Be advised that the setting is more like a cafeteria than a restaurant, simple and modest, where you walk up to the counter to order. They have a few drinks where you can add a shot of alcohol but that's not their focus.

Amba has a really nice staff and environment, food was a little pricey and portions were small for the Arayes. That being said the quality of the food was amazing, especially in the Lamb Burger. Will try this place again if im back in the area.

Had the pleasure of meeting Chef Will Gilson at Lamb Jam 2025 and trying his lamb-based arayes (stuffed and grilled pita). Not only Chef Gilson is genuinely hospitable and friendly but the arayes were spot on authentic, had deep flavors of middle eastern spices, and went very well with his house made amba sauce.

Ordered online and my order was ready within 10 minutes! Tried the hummus bowl with chicken shawarma. I was pleasantly surprised that it was topped with chickpeas and veggies too. While this was a more expensive meal, the portions were great! I just wish it had included another pita and I hadn’t needed to order another, which was $2 for 1 pita. Good flavors. Will definitely try other things on their menu when I have enough money to splurge.

I go to this place religiously. All the workers, especially Ericka and Michael (I hope I spelled their names correctly, if not I am sorry) are amazing! Everyone is truly helpful and friendly and make every visit worth eating here. The food is amazing, my favorites are the pita plate, chicken wings, breakfast wrap and pita Mac. Shout out to the cooks too. I have even recommended my friends to try here and they love it just as much.
