The food was incredible! a party of 4, ordered 9 tapas..2 bottles of exceptional wine. The staff (Ellery - spelling?) and the assistant manager were outstanding. Wine and cheese pairing were excellent! It was a job promotion and birthday celebration.. got a free lively dessert. You should eat here!!!! Highly recommended!!!

This tapas wine bar is an absolute gem—stylish, inviting, and effortlessly charming from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and sophisticated, making it an ideal spot for date nights, catching up with friends, or unwinding after a long day with a great glass of wine.

The tapas menu is outstanding, offering a creative and well-curated selection of small plates designed for sharing. Each dish is beautifully presented and packed with flavor. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients and the thought behind every combination. From rich, savory bites to lighter, fresh options, the menu keeps things exciting and encourages exploration. Every plate pairs seamlessly with the wine selection, elevating the entire dining experience.

Speaking of wine, the list is exceptional. Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or just beginning to explore, there’s something here for everyone. The variety is impressive, featuring both familiar favorites and unique finds. The staff are knowledgeable and genuinely passionate, always happy to recommend the perfect pairing based on your preferences and the dishes you choose.

Service is warm, attentive, and perfectly paced. You feel welcomed without being rushed, and the staff’s professionalism adds to the relaxed, enjoyable vibe of the space. It’s the kind of place where time seems to slow down, encouraging conversation, laughter, and connection.

Clean, well-designed, and thoughtfully curated, this tapas wine bar delivers on every level—food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. It’s not just a place to eat and drink, but a place to enjoy the moment. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable, flavorful, and beautifully relaxed dining experience.

First time eating at Barcelona. I met friends who had been there before. Great tapas! The menu had a wide variety of choices. The fresh out the oven bread, hot and delicious! Very New York style. Will definitely be back!

We hosted a business dinner with several clients at Barcelona Wine Bar and the experience was absolutely outstanding. The Beef Short Rib with truffle chimichurri and fennel purée was hands-down one of the best short ribs we’ve ever had — unbelievably tender and packed with flavor. The Duck Caldoso with butternut squash and sage was equally incredible — rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced.

For dessert we shared the Basque Burnt Cheesecake with Luxardo cherries, which was the perfect ending to an amazing meal.

Huge compliments to Chef Corey O’Shea — every dish was flawless. Our waitress was also fantastic: professional, attentive, and friendly. Every person in our group left impressed and happy. This is now one of our go-to spots for client dinners. We’ll absolutely be back!

Absolutely Awful Experience - 1 Star (Zero Stars if Possible)
If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. This was, without a doubt, the most frustrating and disappointing dining experience I have ever had. The management and staff at Barcelona Wine Bar clearly have zero respect for their customers' time and simply do not care about providing decent service.
We arrived, were promised a wait of approximately 20-30 minutes, and were added to the waiting list. That was the last meaningful interaction we had. We waited... and waited... and waited for what felt like the entire night. We watched group after group get seated, and despite the continuous long wait, we were never called. This is a classic bait-and-switch—promising a reasonable wait time just to keep you hostage at their door.
The whole environment was just loud and cheap. It's an overwhelming, chaotic atmosphere that makes you want to leave immediately.
To top it all off, the waiters seemed completely checked out. They were simply going through the motions, showing absolutely no engagement or care for what they were doing or for the patrons waiting.
Do not waste your time or your money here. If you value your evening and your sanity, never go to this place. They clearly do not value their customers.

One of my go-tos in the area. Food is reasonably priced and delicious. The ricotta, patatas bravas, and paella are all great. Love to bring friends here when they visit.

Great selection of Cheese and Tapas. Seafood paella is a bit light on the seafood, nonetheless still good. Patatas Bravas is a classic and highly recommendable. Cheese selection is impressive with a wide range of predominantly Spanish cheeses. The Basque cheesecake as well as the Flan Catalan were fantastic. Overall very well priced, the food tastes fresh and the atmosphere is good. I only wish the draft beer was bigger!

The food and drinks were great, but we waited 1.2 hours for a table we had a reservation for. They were clearly not ready for school to be back in session. The service was great, but the reservation systems needs some work.

I have fond memories in the Brookline and South End locations, and now I can add the Cambridge location to it.

On my last visit, there was a little mixup with my order, after waiting for my order for a few minutes, I was told what I originally ordered was no longer available, but the manager made up for it by suggesting something else, and it totally worked out. The manager was awesome and attentive.

The Paella Mariscos was delicious and I really enjoyed the Beef Empanadas and the Steak Paillard.

It’s hard to rate this place. The food never disappoints, but the management sure does. I’ve been about half a dozen times and haven’t been seated within 20 minutes of the reservation time and there’s no place to wait, so you’re standing in a crowded doorway with other guests trying to get by for half an hour. Every time.
