Cambridge Common Restaurant

Bar service in the main restaurant was awful. I had a bartender uncharge me 3 dollars on a $11 drink (I was annoyed, but whatever at that point). But we started talking and he just walked off mid sentence and didn't come back. To the restaurant, hire a more respectful bartender. Respect goes a long way.

Cambridge Common is a vegetarian friendly, classic restaurant/bar with good food at a fair price, a big beer menu and a great staff. I used to go here twice a week 2008-2012 and they've still got the magic. A classic spot I can take my picky parents to or meet a bunch of friends

My friend and I went to Cambridge Common the other night for a quick dinner and we weren’t disappointed. We didn’t have to wait for a table and were seated right away. Our server was very friendly and efficient and our food came out very quickly! We ordered the fried pickles, the 1667 burger, and the BLT and we enjoyed all of them. You also can’t beat the prices, they’re lower compared to other restaurants in the area. The only issue people may have is parking but we parked on a side street on a Sunday so you don’t need a parking permit, so that was easy for us. Will definitely return!

The waiter was great. They had good beer options. The food came out very quickly but it was all disappointing. No one in my party was impressed with their meal.

The place is pretty good as an option a minute away from my apartment. My go-tos are the specialty burger, crispy Cobb salad, and the salmon grain bowl. Price is very reasonable for the area.
Update Jan 2026: something must have happened over the holidays. The burger was served COLD twice. The salmon grain bowl and the salad are maybe two thirds of how much portion there used to be. And they started upcharging for the sampler (without telling you in advance), so you may be paying like 20 bucks for four tiny glasses of beer.

josé is the best!! sat at the bar three times now and all times he has been by several and he’s very nice and friendly. the food hsibgreet and the prices are good. this is a great place to drink/dine!!!

Got dinner on New Year’s Day in a party of 9 around 6. Place was fairly empty and started to fill as the evening went on. Cozy vibe. Food was pretty good! I got the 1667 burger with curly fries, which was tasty with the onion bun and reasonably priced. I got a sort of cranberry Shirley temple on the menus. I sent it back for extra grenadine as it was mostly cranberry juice and soda. I wished the food had come hot and not lukewarm. We were all really hungry so didn’t complain. I could see it getting cold if you don’t have proper warmers in the kitchen to bring everything to the table at one time. The staff were a bit disorganized, but our server was nice and attentive.

Listen, this is not a fine dining experience. It is however the fine dining of pubs and comfort food. Cambridge commons endless tap list is a welcome sight. It’s buffalo tenets are not too be missed and burgers are incredibly juicy. Come here to watch a game, meet up with old friends, have a bite, a beer and relax.

I just ate there and, it was a very disappointing meal. The soup came out cold and steak tip were ice cold. The waitress never came back to check on us , so I got up to speak host and he never sent over the waitress. Finally we had to flag her down . They took the two items off our bill but the manger never came over till I asked for him.
A very disappointing experience .

Read reviews before judging the 4.4 starts. The food is excellent, eclectic menu with simple creativity which makes for solid dishes every time. Service is straightforward and efficient. Building is classic Cambridge/Boston bar/lounge/restaurant design. Don’t overthink it.

I have loved Cambridge common for many years. I ordered take out and marked online that I have a dairy allergy and egg allergy. I called to make sure my food would be made without cheese, kindly asking over the phone just as a double check because sometimes it doesn’t get translated over website orders. I’ve had allergies my whole life, so I usually just double check quick before I leave the restaurant, and lo and behold they made it with cheese and mayo. It happens, no big deal. I asked the host if the staff could maybe remake it and they gave me a hard time and went to get the manager. The manager came out and apologized quickly then took my box of food. The host came back like 3 minutes later with the box, with half of the ingredients gone (clearly they had just pulled off the part with cheese and mayo and anything that had touched it and put the other pieces back together). When I asked if I could get those ingredients again, I was met with a sigh by the host and they took back the box. I left with something that resembled a bunch of sandwich pieces thrown in the box. I work in customer service, and while I admit I was exhausted and hungry I really tried to meet all of the staff with kindness and understanding. Mistakes happen, but this happened because staff routinely didn’t care. There were two hosts and the restaurant was busy but not packed. I’m really disappointed and I really hope Cambridge common sees this because I know they have the capacity to treat customers with care and be sensitive to folks with allergies.
