I’ve been going to this restaurant since I was a kid. I literally have a fear of them ever closing permanently. There’s so much nostalgia and happiness I get from going here and getting my favorites. I’m just so happy that they are still here and the food always tastes consistent to me. They are really connected with the community and I always love telling my friends, co-workers and clients about how great the food is here. Hands down best Jamaican beef patty anywhere, in my humble opinion. No one makes it like them. I always love their rice and beans and there fried chicken. Beef stew is also very yummy. The staff are so amazing and always friendly. You just have to keep going back. I hope everyone get to experience this wonderful family owned restaurant.

Everything about this restaurant was great. The place was clean and smelled good. I'm so sad that so many won't be able to experience the greatness because after years of serving the community they are closing down. This spot gave extraordinary service and yummy meals. One of my favourite restaurants around town. The meals were prepared rapidly but with quality I Loved this place. Plus it's all at an affordable price. A small local restaurant with great service, food, and overall experience!

Came by this very casual and lowkey place after thrifting at Garment District, I got the fried shrimp plate with beans and rice and plantains. It was my first time trying Puerto Rican food and I really enjoyed it! More flavorful than Mexican food, imo, but still mellow enough that you can enjoy it for lunch or dinner or a random bite. The plantains were awesome although next time I'd get them unsweetened. Also, the portion sizes were fantastic, and the service was great. The lady at the counter was maybe one of the nicest people I've encountered in all of Boston, super patient and accommodating and also explained the options well. Would totally go back (I am already craving those shrimp and plantains again sigh) Bonus, the decor. Made me feel like I was at a historical, iconic spot, which it surely was, and loved the no frills, easygoing ambience despite the famous people on the walls.

Great food find in Cambridge! Great service... everyone who came in for takeout is received by a homey staff who know the orders, make suggestions, and welcome all! This place is a celebration of Caribbean food with a Puertorican flare.

Food was bland and tasteless. They were so friendly that they get a star for that and their deserts were not too bad. Pastelitos we’re just meat and cheese. Their plate of food was a container of soggy tasteless rice with the same tasting chicken. The worst part was the CANNED beans they use and the soggy iceberg lettuce. I wanted to like this place because they were super friendly but the Puerto Rican food is not even close to what it’s suppose to be, might have been a bad day for them as I know running a business has bad days but sucks I had to be the one to loose out.

Good little neighborhood joint. One of those places that's the epitome of "if you know, you know". The masses around Kendall/MIT area should definitely head here, if they aren't already. Prices are affordable. Servings are very large. $2.50 for empanadas and Jamaican patties. $11-$13 for a plate (protein + rice&beans + sweet plantains). I can here on a Thursday at 5:45, right before close, to get the roast pork (pernil), but they were sold out. They only make Pernil on Thursdays and Fridays, but go early. I didn't ask if they had any green sauce or hot sauce, but that's the only thing I thought was missing. I prefer spicy. Otherwise, this is home-cooked comfort food in Cambridge, you won't be able to find elsewhere in Boston.

Been going to Izzy's since I was in high school, it's always a good time there, it tend to pack up between noon and 1pm since it's lunch time for everyone, so it could get frustrating if you want to be in and out quick. But other than that, awesome place, awesome food, awesome people!

Holy $&*%, this place is SO good. Really excellent food and portion sizes and extremely friendly service for an incredibly low price. I am in awe, I can't wait to show my other friend this place once he gets back from the UK (he's in quarantine due to COVID exposure currently... L). And so basically I got takeout here while me and my friend/roommate were helping my other friend/roommate move in to my place. And this was EXACTLY what we needed for the moment; it hit the spot. Solid 5/5.

This place is a neighborhood classic. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered from them. I've been going to Izzy's for 20 years and shall continue as long as I live in the area.
