About Kyoyo Haus

Kyoyo Haus is a popular ice cream shop located in the heart of Harvard Square, inside a mall space shared with other stores. It specializes in Asian ice cream flavors served in soft serve style or with mochi. The mochi ice cream is a highlight, always freshly made, chewy, and paired well with the ice cream. Customers can enjoy flavors like black sesame, matcha, mango, and hojicha, with some options including a pipette of flavor such as sesame oil or Thai milk tea for added taste. The soft serve is creamy and comes with various toppings, including warm boba and bubble waffle, which provide a good balance of textures. The flavors are generally not overly sweet, with many finding the ice cream to have the right sweetness level, although some thought it could be a bit sweeter or more flavorful, especially the matcha and black sesame. The shop offers a variety of flavors and options, making it a fun experience, especially for those interested in Japanese and Asian-inspired treats. Service is friendly and organized, with staff being patient and kind. Prices are on the higher side, around $7 for a single cup, but the unique mochi and flavor options are worth trying. The owner is connected to a well-known anime store, adding a cultural touch to the experience. Overall, Kyoyo Haus is a great place for a special treat, especially for mochi and Asian ice cream lovers.

cashier was super nice and let us sample basically all the flavors which were all yummy but standouts for me were lychee and peach oolong 🤩
Delicious, very creative. One of the best desserts in Boston/Cambridge I’ve ever tried
The mochi ice cream was good and the flavors were nice, but it was around 7.50 per small kiddie cup. The price definitely wasn’t insanity, but I feel like maybe you could get better mochi ice cream elsewhere in the area. It was still really solid though and I would go back.
