Cannot emphasize enough how great Mae Asian Eatery is! We recently stopped in for dinner and would definitely return. The food was fantastic -- a Chinese-Thai fusion that was really yummy. The service was also outstanding. It was super fast (especially impressive considering how busy it was), everyone was very kind, and we got to speak with the owner afterward who told us about the food (the secret to how yummy it is? His wife is the chef!) and the history behind the name. Just an all-around great experience and cool local business we were happy to visit.

One of the best restaurants you can find in Cambridge accounting for quality, price, and amount of food. Highly recommended!

While the atmosphere was nice I found the food average. Our server made a constant pressure for having us order one plate for every person seated, no matter if two were children. Small plates were four pieces bite sized grabs. A automatic 20% gratuity was added. It may not suit for a place to bring you family.

We had an amazing dinner at Mae’s. Everything was delicious and flavorful. The restaurant looks a little run down but don’t let the appearance fool you. We ordered for 5 of us gyoza, Kah Moo, Drunken Crazy Noodles, Pad Krapow, cashew gai krob, house specialty red curry with duck. Gyoza filling was delicious. Kah Moo was interesting and a bit plain though perfectly fried, and the fried pork belly in pad krapow was delicious though a little different than what I had imagined. We had no left overs…just the right portions. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The food here is SO good! We got chicken wings, fresh rolls, pad see ew, and pork noodle soup and they were all very fresh and delicious :) this meal solved all my cravings.
The atmosphere is kind and lively too!

After moving to Cambridge a year ago- this restaurant has become my #1 favorite in the area. The manager and staff are incredibly kind and efficient- pickup orders are always ready within 10-15 minutes. They have the best Pad Thai and the Tofu Khao Soi is unbelievably yummy. Could not recommend more!

Great food, best pad Thai and drunken noodles in Boston. Amazing hard working team.

Terrible service and disappointing experience!

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was absolutely awful—staff were indifferent, unprofessional, and made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. They prioritized their acquaintances, serving them quickly while making us wait an unreasonably long time for our food.

When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best—bland, poorly prepared, and not worth the wait. The entire experience felt frustrating and unfair. If you value good service and decent food, I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

Not variety of options for vegetarian people, but my non veg friends loved their foods! The fried rice is just average.

Editing after been here tens of times, this is my favorite Thai place around. Their thai tea- oh wow, super. Khao soi and drunken noodles are my favorite. Fried rice is my go-to option for Thai cuisine, and theirs isn't just as good as their other items mentioned above.

They make you wait until the full group has arrived, so prep if you don't want to wait in the cold.

Decent food. Requested my drunken noodles to be spicy, but was instead given a non-spicy dish with a side of chili flakes and sambal - not really what I expect. Also, I found the rule card they provide at each table, along with the rules themselves, to be amusing and unnecessary.

If I ever go back, I will deliver them my own rule card. “Diner expects dishes to be seasoned to their specifications.”

We recently had dinner at this restaurant, and it was a very disappointing experience. My wife had just had surgery and didn’t have much of an appetite, so we decided to share a dish (Drunken Noodles, ~$20) to avoid wasting food. The server, however, told us that everyone has to order their own dish. This rule wasn’t mentioned anywhere and felt very abnormal. We even tried to explain my wife’s situation and offered to leave a larger tip, but the server refused and insisted on the policy without any flexibility.

In an effort to avoid further conflict, my wife reluctantly ordered a soup. Then, before we even finished eating, the server came over and took our plates, rushing us out. Their rude attitude made the whole experience even worse.

What made it more frustrating was that several nearby tables were only sharing a small snack, which left us feeling singled out.

We reserve the right to pursue legal action, as this situation felt like outright fraud. We’ve retained the necessary evidence, including recordings, photos, and the receipt. We won’t be returning and would advise others to be cautious when dining here.
