I cannot believe it was my first time at Puritan & Company, but it will not be my last. We decided to do the tasting menu, which was a great choice. Every dish was inventive and beautifully executed. Cocktails and wine were also great.
The menu has changed a bit since I was last here, and honestly the new things were great: a peach and cherry "panzanella", which was panzanella in spirit but a completely different take on it; and a Denver steak with wild hen-of-the-wood mushrooms and savory bread pudding, which was just delicious. I ate at the bar, and the bartender Nate was friendly and excellent.
The Julia Child's dinner, while costly, was truly amazing! That said, the noise level is astonishingly high. For some folks that is an "energetic vibe" that they thirst for, while for others it is painful, if not unacceptable. We were most graciously reseated at the quietest spot in the restaurant, which was super kind of a team that was nearly overwhelmed by the turn out of enthusiastic guests.
