I ordered matcha & hojicha taiyaki.
The soft serve ice cream tastes just like the matcha and hojicha tea you eat in Japan.
The taiyaki had a crunchy texture rather than the chewy texture of Japan. There was bean paste underneath the soft serve ice cream, and it was delicious even down to the tail.

I do not recommend the traditional taiyaki with custard filling. It was flavorless and inauthentic.

Visit this location for some taiyaki (waffles shaped in a fish) and ice cream!
They offer a selection of flavors although it looks like matcha/hojicha is their most popular combo of flavors. If you're not craving ice cream, there are also pastries (mochi donuts) and lattes as well as traditional taiyakis filled with red bean or custard. The wait for my red bean taiyaki was a bit long but it was a busy night. Overall, would recommend checking this place out!

Not sure this is the best place to grab ice cream in Harvard Square. The vanilla and chocolate ice cream tasted like supermarket ice cream. On top of that it cost 9$ each.

Good donuts, but I've been waiting for 20 minutes for someone to grab mine off the rack. Might just leave without my food
Update, apparently their ordering system broke and my order didn't go through to the counter from the kiosk.

Absolutely love the taiyaki ice cream here! Although I must admit, the ube cream bomb was a HUGE disappointment :( It tasted completely artificial and bitter, something I have never experienced in an ube dessert.

Donut was fine. But worth noting the cashier attempted to keep a $5 tip on a $4 donut. When confronted, he stated that he assumed he could keep it for a tip.
I don’t leave negative reviews because I’m cognizant of stores being a Mom & Pop, but that was unethical and pretty gutsy since I just needed to pay attention to the change provided back.
I also triple checked that this is the location that this happened. Just a heads up for tourists - check your statement or change provided.
For what it’s worth, I did leave a dollar for the $4 donut that he placed in a bag.

The butter mochinut definitely tastes buttery but also sort of like cornmeal

I got the Ube crème donut which was delicious and reasonably priced. The cashier was helpful and nice in telling me about the various foods they sold.

Great midday snack. The matcha and black sesame mix soft serve was silky and not too sweet. Combined with the slight crunchy warm taiyaki shell, it was delicious! There is unfortunately no place to sit and no washroom.
