A fun spot with a variety of regular events like open mic nights, poetry nights, dance nights with the chicken slacks etc. They also often have bookings of local bands which may play upstairs or downstairs. My personal favorite is the rnb jam night, where there is a band that allows anyone to come up and sing or play a few songs with them. If you like live music odds are there is something for you in the cantab's regularly scheduled events

We stopped by on Friday, October 4th, and had a great time. There was live music in both the basement (rock) and on the first floor (R&B). The crowd was diverse, welcoming, and had a festive vibe. It’s a place where you can comfortably attend solo, grab a seat at the bar, and enjoy the music. People were dancing and respectful, creating a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. Drinks were reasonably priced. Overall, it was a wonderful experience in Central Square!

Bad attitude from the bouncer and very rude. I was not asked nicely, and only was asked once. Nobody told me I was impeding traffic or fire exit. I requested to be talked nicely and because i asked, their attitude was to ask me to leave, so I left.

It was like walking back in time to 'beanik' era coolness. It was open mic jam and the local talent was beyond impressive. Got a gin & tonic and it was affordable (and generous pour). It's a Cambridge staple that never lost it's edge and totally returning next time I'm in town.

Very rude bartender. Kicked me out of the place after 1 drink and spoke very rudely. Coming from California it was a shock to encounter such low customer service from a place that is in Cambridge, MA. Would never go there again, Generally Irish Pubs are the most friendliest ever. Disappointing!
Great live music venue, with two stages, downstairs and street level. Diverse group of patrons, young and old. Enjoyed dancing to Atlantic Ave and Russell Watts.

July 2024: Environment was nice with dim lighting. For game play: they had a giant connect 4 game which was fun to play with. They have two floors where lots of local comedy and bands play- bars are located in both floors. It gets loud, bring ear protection.
