not a single dish disappointed!! the gnocchi was definitely the highlight of the day - it was so tender and blended really well with the veggies. we liked the sweetness in the crispy pork ribs, and the asparagus was great too. would also recommend the cocktail with the gochujang element in it — the spicy aftertaste was super special! everything was amazing, would definitely come back again :)

If you're reading this trying to decide whether or not to eat here, just go. Not only is the good outrageously delicious, it's sourced from local producers, cooked to absolute perfection in myriay creative ways, and served beautifully with delicious wine pairings. Plus the tasting menu is criminally inexpensive.
Go! Say hi to Sam, he's a delight to talk to and he's doing an incredible job. Go! It's so good. Just do it. Go!

Exceptional flavors under the purview of executive chef Sam. This is a superb restaurant with excellent customer service as managed by Nick. The spring salad was a revelation (so bright and fresh with a delicious vinaigrette and then there’s Green Goddess dressing hiding at the bottom of the bowl! [Thus, I might have served on a plate.]). The cold asparagus soup with crab hit a refreshing note. Soft-shell crab cooked to perfection. These are seasonal so might not be available when you go, but the exceptional quality indicates you should order what’s seasonal when you are there. Even so, the regular menu items like the salmon were excellent also. The “front counter” gives you a view of the kitchen activity—you don’t have to order the fixed price chef’s tasting menu if sitting there. A top restaurant in an area with many choices.

How I almost died at Season to Taste:

I went to Season to Taste with my partner to celebrate a milestone. We booked in advance because tables are limited and they do fill up. This was our first time in.

We were seated indoors, but the front windows are actually doors that open to the patio, letting in passerby smoke and mosquitoes. Within the first five minutes of being seated, I had been murdered by mosquitoes. They refused to close the windows but the manager came over and offered to move us further indoors away from the bugs.

Because of the move, we lost our server, Abby, who had taken account of my allergies, and got our new server, Russell. Both servers were very cordial, and Russell gave us great background on the drink we ordered, which was excellent, strong. (The one based on the gunpowder scandal, with gochujang & rum!)

My dietary restriction is that I am allergic to milk from a cow: mozzarella, parmigiano, gouda, some feta, cream, butter, etc. The menu had some whipped goat cheese, so we ordered a few non-dairy dishes, and then some we asked “Can this be made without dairy, or with just sheep/goat dairy?”

“Yes. No problem,” they said.

Well, it was a problem. They delivered the gnocchi and I started to eat it when the manager came over to explain: The CHEF decided that “because parmesan is an aged cheese you shouldn’t have an allergic to it.” That’s nice, person who isn’t a medical doctor: you are giving advice as if I am lactose intolerant. I’m not. I AM ALLERGIC. A-L-L-E-R-G-Y is not the same as intolerance.

I went immediately to the bathroom to induce vomiting and slow the histamine reaction to my throat closing up, left immediately, in tears, to get medical intervention for the dire emergency Season to Taste so royally induced, placing patrons in harms way on their whims.

It was hours before we were able to eat dinner. Our milestone was ruined. All parties are at fault: the servers who didn’t know that the gnocchi contained parmesan, the runners for not double checking the order before delivering it, the manager who wasn’t even sure where the feta was from, and the brazen chef masquerading as a doctor giving inaccurate and dangerous medical advice from behind a food line.

At these prices, the expectations were high, and the bar wasn’t even met, it was lowered to the floor.

Avoid at all costs this place if you have any dietary restrictions whatsoever. They’ll probably give you “just a small amount of shellfish juice” and assume it’s fine for your shellfish allergy and you’ll leave in a body bag like I almost did.

Absolutely blew me away. Come for the small plates. Come hungry. The heirloom carrots, the charred broccolini and of course the biscuit. We even took a biscuit to go so we could enjoy the experience again the next day. Thoughtful flavors, intentional plating. Service was welcoming and attentive. Would come back again and again for a night out. Thank you!

We loved season to taste. Every food item we got was fantastic. I’d say the only improvement could’ve been my margarita. We will be going back!

10/10. Had a solo date at Season to Taste and had a genuinely wonderful time. Sat at the window bar on a rainy day, perfect for people watching.

Got the roasted heirloom carrots and the chili whipped goat cheese is the perfect addition. It just works. The chicken trio was solid, everything felt intentional and well done.

The mocha chocolate tart was life changing. I would absolutely get a whole one and devour it. Rich and thick with that toasted marshmallow topping, 20/10. I got it to go and finished it before I even thought about taking a picture. You could honestly go just for this.

Also had a clarified milk punch that was so balanced and smooth. And for a second drink I got a Rosa Rosa Collins maybe, and the menu changes so I can't be sure if it's still the same cocktail menu.

No misses.
