“The BEST PERUVIAN RESTAURANT in the whole area. I’ve tried multiple restaurants since I moved here and this is the best one so far! The place is really cozy with great music, ambience and decoration, it makes me feel as if I was back in Peru for awhile. The food is amazing, tastes just like home, my favorite dishes are the aguadito, tacu tacu a lo pobre and Seco de res a la norteña.They also have glass bottle inka kola ?? and Peruvian traditional ice creams.Prices are also really good and the service is the best, people working here are so welcoming and nice. 10/10 would always recommend!“

“Delicious Peruvian food with expensive Boston prices. Quality over quantity, the portions feel a bit small but everything was very good.Parking is a bit tricky. There's limited street parking and I believe you are allowed to park in the lot by the grocery store. There's no sign saying otherwise. My friend parked there for the hour and a half we were there on a Saturday night and his car was still there.Edit from their website about parking: "There is plenty of street parking on BOTH sides of our street (Adams Street). This includes the area directly in front of the restaurant and across the street on the side of Russo’s Tux. There is additional parking on Garfield Street, just around the corner, as well as Wesley Street which is behind our building. The parking lot next to our building is NOT ours and vehicles will be towed. Please help us respect our neighbors! Please feel free to call the restaurant with any questions."Parking: Street parking, and maybe the lot at the end by the grocery store. Don't park in the one next to the restaurant, that's residential only“

“Contemporary Peruvian spot in West Cambridge. After a few successful years with Celeste, Maria and JuanMa launched La Royal in hopes to expand the Peruvian food scene in Cambridge. I had a great experience at Celeste a few weeks ago, so I recently made my way to La Royal to check out their expanded range of Peruvian offerings. The seafood appetizers at La Royal had a well-balanced flavor profile, but it somehow felt more generic. JuanMa’s creations at Celeste, which hold a more personal narrative from his childhood in Lima, seemed superior, with their more robust flavors and better quality seafood. I was especially disappointed with Causa de Tuna Salad, which just seemed like an overpriced tuna salad over mash potatoes. On the other hand, the cheesy Scallops au Gratin soaked in butter was a decadent treat. The entrées thankfully redeemed our experience. Both the Arroz Con Seared Duck and the Whole Bronzino were great. The former dish paired lean, perfectly seared duck breasts with the invigorating zest of salsa criolla. Despite my initial reservations about the cilantro rice, its subtle aroma was a pleasant surprise, and it felt more reminiscent of a well-executed paella. The Patarascha, grilled in plantain leaves, maintained the Bronzino's tenderness while infusing it with the unique flavors of Amazonian condiments. The process of deboning was somewhat cumbersome, but the intricate blend of spices and vegetable toppings more than compensated. While I may be hesitant to get seafood appetizers in my future visits, the entrées at La Royal are undeniably compelling. If you’re looking for a great ceviche experience, Celeste might be a better option, but for refined and satisfying Peruvian meals, La Royal also does a great job.“

“Very good place. Nice atmosphere, although a little small (there were a good number of people waiting to have a seat). The service was fast and incredibly friendly.I really liked the ceviche and the dry goat (I felt a slight taste of blue cheese, I don't know why but I liked it, although there wasn't much cilantro). I ordered a lomo saltado but it didn't taste as good as the lomo saltado that a Peruvian is used to. There was something about the silao/vinegar/oyster sauce dressing that was lacking flavor. Plus the meat was a little dry.I liked that they serve you two types of chili and golf sauce as an additional. One point that I didn't like very much: the background music. Only Arjona sounded. It would have been better to hear something typical Peruvian.Anyway, I give it 5 stars because I would definitely return to the restaurant because it is good, although with some things to improve, I have no doubt that the experience, above all, is repeatable :)“

Shaved Ice

“This place is one of the best place to go in a hot summer weather. I really like the shaved ice with fresh fruits on top. The syrup was well distributed throughout and there was condensed milk that went well with shaved ice. There was a long line around 30 minutes but it was all worth it. It is a must place to check out if you are in Boston. I got half pina colada and half mango minutas which I highly recommend getting.“

“I can’t complain, the food was good, the place looks very clean. However, it was freezing inside!!!. I couldn’t eat and I was forced to keep my heavy winter coat on the entire time, which is sad because I drove from far away to enjoy a great dinner and I couldn’t finish it because I was too cold so I took my food to go. Also, I thought it was a Colombian place lol. Other than that I mean the food was great so like I said, I can’t complain.“

“Excellent, interesting food, price not bad, good service. Noise level was fine. Odd that OpenTable implies with their scale that louder is better, with the loudest being "energetic" rather than say "deafening". I go to restaurants to talk to people, not to be blasted with a wall of noise that makes conversation impossible.“

“very good food, and atmosphere, the idea is clear in each dish, some are very good, others have details that minimize it, the weakness of this restaurant is the service (being a high-end restaurant), the host I think does not have much experience in terms of to receive clients, and the way you deal with them is proof of this, just as not saying goodbye to the client cordially is serious. Our server Lauren B was excellent, very attentive, and committed (the only fault is that she does not have a good “teamwork” to support her), there were two of us but we ordered quite a few dishes since it was our first time here so we wanted to enjoy what we As much as possible, the service until the last dish took 1hr 23min (account closing), in this interval the interaction between each dish took between 12min to 1hr to arrive, several times we had the table occupied by empty dirty plates, which when passing We asked a runner to remove them and she told us not to, so our server was the one who had to urge us to remove the dishes, I think it is the only weakness in terms of service, the manager who I assume was the gentleman in the dark blue blazer and glasses , I was not paying attention to such important details in several tables that I viewed. The rest. The food, our server, the atmosphere and music were excellent. I totally recommend it (you just have to be patient in the service)“

“The best Peruvian food in Boston!! Everything is homemade, I feel like I'm back in Lima! The portions are huge for the price. I tried the tallarines verde which were so creamy!! You can order it with meat or chicken - The papa a la huancaina was AMAZING!! If you like spicy, I recommend trying their rocoto (spicy sauce) it brings everything together! THIS RESTAURANT IS A MUST TRY! So worth it!“

“10/10 with the food I ate today. I ordered a full chicken with yuka fries and white rice. Chicken came with a salad. Rice was perfectly cooked. Server was very kind and loving. You can tell the people that work there care about their job and want to see all customers happy. Definitely can’t complain and would recommend anyone to take the drive to Boston to try this place. White House sauce is really good too ☺️. Really big portions and food is not expensive only spend $50 after tipping 20%. If it’s cheap and good it’s for me ?“

“Really excellent. Humble place with excellent food. Of course the rotisserie chicken is what they're justifiably famous for, but other Peruvian dishes are terrific too. Beef heart anticuchos are delicious and moist, served with excellent potatoes and corn. Ceviche pescado could not have been fresher. Ají de gallina, my favorite Peruvian dish, is done so beautifully here, with shredded rotisserie chicken in a luscious mild ají amarillo sauce. I like to go here right before the airport, but do leave extra time as they are not fast.“
