8 Best Craft Breweries near Charlton

Tree House Brewing Company Brewery • $$
129 Sturbridge Rd, Charlton

“Delicious beer, spacious area and plenty of variety for where to sit - big table, small table, bar top, outside picnic table, in the sun, they've got it all. It can get a little busy and crazy during beer pickup on special holidays and parking is a mess at times, but I'd fault the beer being so good rather than the company on that one - the parking keeps expanding and the buying process keeps getting smoother“

Altruist Brewing Company Brewery • $$
559 Main St, Sturbridge - 7.45 miles

“We walked in there at around 11:00 AM thinking they were open but we were politely told they open at 4:00. The owner and head brewer Cam showed us around and allowed us to take pics and buy some merchandise and cans to go. Although we couldn’t partake in a delicious beer at that moment, we will be sure to swing back in when passing through Sturbridge!“

Oakholm Brewing Company Brewery • $
80 Lake Rd, Brookfield - 6.98 miles

“Great brewery to check out in Brookfield, Massachusetts. We loved the Pumpkin Carver. The flights come out on a wooden oak leaf, which was fun.Good function room, there was a party downstairs, while we were at another upstairs- plus some room at the bar. They had a live band playing, and it was very family and (I think) dog friendly.Thumbs up“

Timberyard Brewing Company Brewery • $$
555 East Main Street (Route, 9, East Brookfield - 7.26 miles

“These guys brew so many different beers, it's probably my favorite brewery in Central Massachusetts. (Including you-know-who in Charlton). They have an excellent variety of different styles and flavors, and they aren't constantly changing names of their beers just because they lost the recipe. Their kitchen is small, so you're not going for a full meal, but all of their snacks are great. They have a good setup. The only thing to remember is that dogs are outside only - East Brookfield rule, not theirs. Makes it hard when it's colder out. However, they have a covered area outside, as well. They do some cool special things too, like craft fairs, smores cooking sometimes, and other different things to engage with the community. Pretty sure they have a corn hole league, too.Anyways, I highly recommend.“

“This place is so awesome....almost demoted them to 4 stars because I came up fromCT for take out cans but no longer available in Sturbridge and no mention on social media they only sell in Spencer now. Had to drive 18 min further to Spencer. But Cedric's Spruce and the Belgian Blonde are SO good that they remain 5 stars.“

Common Ground Ciderworks Brewery • $$
31 E Brookfield Rd, North Brookfield - 9.79 miles

“We stayed here in May and I'm just getting around to writing a review. This Harvest Host was great! The cider was great, the hosts were friendly, and the access was very easy. They were welcoming to our kids and our 2 leashed dogs. It's off a main road so it's a little loud, but nothing that was off putting to us. There's a little stream and a pond right next to where we parked, so it was peaceful and beautiful. There's plenty of room to park your rig. We have a 26' travel trailer and parking is in an open grass field. There's also plenty of room within the cider yard for the kids to run and play. They have corn hole and while we were there they had live music, too.“

common ground coffee works Coffee Shops • $$
31 E Brookfield Rd, North Brookfield - 9.79 miles

“My wife and I stopped in to check out the reopened Coffeeworks because we enjoyed their Ciderworks so much. I had the basic breakfast with delicious eggs, potatoes and sausage, and they were kind enough to let me get a side of french toast even though it wasn't a menu option. The food, and coffee were awesome. The staff was hilarious and friendly.“
