this was my first time at ron's and i can only eat vegan ice cream. the draw was their peanut butter oreo flavor, since most places only off vegan vanilla or chocolate. it was the best ice cream i have ever had. i will absolutely be back

This place was a huge disappointment! They had very limited flavors and the orange sherbet I did get (because they had nothing else, that didn't have chocolate in it, which I hate, that was sweet and kid-friendly), was all freezer burnt and a regular size cost me like $7! Outrageous! Was absolutely the WORST I've cream place I've ever been to, and I've been to MANY!

The place was nice, and the staff was friendly, but the ice cream was awful. It’s almost impossible to mess up ice cream, yet somehow, they did. It had no redeeming qualities. Was super pricey and after a few bites, it went straight into the trash.
Edit: I'm indeed real and have no affiliation with any competitors. Sorry, your ice cream was not good in my opinion.

I am disappointed in the two frappes I ordered. They were all ice on the bottom and the Oreo flavor was very weak. For $22, I expected more. The service was OK. One of the girls working was nice, the other did not smile at all or say hi or anything. I will have to try the ice cream some day, but the lack of Oreo flavor in the frappes is alarming.
It’s hard to come across gummy ice cream with give anymore — that’s how you know it’s made from the most creamiest ingredients but Ron’s does a great job at achieving this texture of homemade ice cream and the flavors taste amazing; particularly the banana and cherry vanilla.

Tried this place for the first time today, I purchased Banana and Dutch Chocolate ice cream. The staff were nice, and the place was welcoming unfortunately, the ice cream was not very good. It had an odd “gum-like texture” it stretched when I pulled my spoon up like melted cheese. Perhaps it was a bad batch or something, I will not be finishing the rest.
Post edit: After posting an honest review with a photograph, I’m asked to prove I’m a real person instead of an apology? That’s a pretty bad response from a business. I mean would you prefer I post a picture of my bank statement to prove proof of purchase lol. I was looking forward to ice cream drove here instead of jp licks, the ice cream was not the right texture. Best of luck to you and your business

This is in my opinion MY best place to order ice cream. The HYDE PARK location to be precise. I come here all the time. Yesterday was different. The little ice cream server boys had been taking orders. About two of them kept talking to young ladies that came to order after us not paying attention to my sisters and I. As I said before I come here all the time so I know the servers faces. The young boy with the brown turban or scarf on his head caught an attitude with me and was extremely rude…muttering under his breath like a damn child because he failed to cover our cups of ice cream. He said he THOUGHT we were eating in. Like he even asked which he never did. He was chatting throughout with younger customers …he didn’t care. And when he caught that attitude he carelessly took out the spoons making a whole mess, covered the cups and just gave it back to us. We all were too stunned and disgusted. I laughed about it but I was pissed. I wanted a whole new cup that he hadn’t touched but I didn’t want to make a scene so we left. Honestly, I’m still a bit mad because I didn’t deserve that reaction. Every time I come the my cup is always covered. But last night was a disaster. And the same server doesn’t serve the ice cream properly. He fills in cups and half’s cups. He doesn’t maintain the same servings for the different sizes. How is he allowed to fill up up some and not fill up others. His customer service skills are hitting the dirt ground. And if he sees this review: “Son, you need to learn manners and etiquette. Not everyone is collected. Be rude to the wrong person and it might be something else. Pay close attention at your job”.

I am a Hyde park local and I’ve been eating Ron’s ice cream since I was little. This ice cream is really the absolute best I’ve ever had in my entire life. I recommend the Dedham location or if you want to do some candle pin bowling you can visit the one in Hyde park.
