“Overall it wasn't the worst restaurant we've ever been to but there were a few things today when we had lunch there that could be improved upon The server came over. welcomed us and told us the lunch specials. I asked him what the sides were that came with my special. he recited the sides so I ordered one of the ones he mentioned. my sandwich was good along with the truffle fries My wife ordered the quiche, but it was warm at best and for $17.00 it was small, the salad that came with it was average, nothing special I did order a cup of NE chowder for $9.00, no crackers served with it and had to eat it with a regular teaspoon, no soup spoon. by the time the server came back to ask how is everything most of my wife's warm quiche was eaten so she never was able to send it back to get hot When we received our bill they charged me $ 5.00 for the truffle fries that server said came with it.”

“The owner and the manager and waitresses were very rude very unprofessional.My daughter in-law went there 2 years ago said the service and food was great My son and daughter in-law and I went there on Saturday 11-8-2025 It was about 15 or 20 minutes to order then when we did order we waited over 1hour 15 minutes to eat the food was luke, warm. My daughter in-law bit into a clam strip and thought she broke her tooth she was afraid to eat anymore we had seafood the way it came out the food was saturated from the frying oil like it hadn't been changed in weeks I had coleslaw that had a fish taste to it like it was stored with open fish in the fridge we asked to speak to the manager when she finely came over she wanted the food my daughter in-law spit out in the napkin so obviously. the manager didn't believe her I ask to have her meal comped the manager left never came back I asked to speak to the owner eventually The owner came over was disrespectful rude and very unprofessional, for an owner of a restaurant. first of all, the kitchen was backed up.He should have been in the kitchen helping the cooks second of all he shouldn't have told me to get out of his restaurant the way he did.....”

“Rare to find a place that actually sweats the details on both food and drink — Upper Bend does. The Everything Bagel Cream Cheese Scone has been living rent-free in my head since I left: laminated layers of cream cheese worked into the dough, possibly the best scone I’ve ever had. Cold brew was dialed in. Grilled cheese is genuinely great. And the chili crisp — cinnamon-forward, impossibly crunchy — is the kind of thing you start thinking about putting on everything else.”

“Hands down, Carefree Cakery make the best cupcakes I’ve ever tasted! We have also ordered a couple of birthday cakes for our kiddos, and they too are spectacular. Not too heavy on frosting, and the cake is light and delicious. Our friends always comment on how delicious the cupcakes/cakes are. This week, we ordered a Wicked theme cake for our daughter’s 10th birthday party and it was so beautiful, I thought my kiddo was going to cry with joy when we picked it up!! “This brewery centers around a very nice structure, but the real appeal is sitting outside in suitable weather. The hops fields are amazing and particularly warrant a visit at or near harvest time. The brewery is in a rather remote setting, just this side of the middle of nowhere, and that is part of its attraction. The grounds outside are extensive, down a hill to the edge of one of the hops fields.

There is not an extensive selection of beers on tap, but what they have is certainly good. There is also a limited selection of wines on tap, from a nearby winery, for those who prefer wine over beer. The brewery is now offering a pizza food truck, at least on Friday nights.

My only complaint is that the brewery does not allow dogs, even outside. That is unfortunate, but I understand that the owners have a right to make their own management decisions. Well-behaved dogs and responsible dog owners do not present problems at other breweries and wineries, and maybe it would be worth rethinking this policy. I (sadly) knew in advance and left my dog at home, but when I left I couldn't help but notice somebody else's canine friend cooped up in a vehicle in the parking lot. (At least it was a cool evening.)”

“One of the best BBQ restaurants in the Northeast region. I’ve been here numerous times, eating in and getting takeout. Everything is consistently delicious and house made. Get here early! They will run out of popular items like burnt ends, spare ribs, cornbread and turkey. The burnt ends are to die for, brisket is amazingly smokey, spare ribs delicious. You can’t go wrong. The cocktails are delicious and go well with the food and they have a good beer selection. I love this place and just wish it was closer!”

“6/20/26 Small town vibes big time pizza. It was good ,mild flavored pizza ,piping hot and fresh! Ambience matters and we fell for the nostalgic view of the front boths looking out on simpler times and the beauty of the local area. Staff was quick personable and despite a constant flow of customers the place never felt crowded or slow to deliver. Very impressed.”
