The Newes from America offers a dark, old school pub atmosphere that reminds some of Ireland. The food is pretty good to excellent. Specific praised dishes include the lobster roll, called the best on the island, a delicious shepherds pie with ginormous portions, a 5/5 chicken pot pie, amazing Brussels sprouts, very flavorful shrimp Po' boy, good French fries, really good chowder, and fish & chips described as the best ever. The bangers and mash received a 3.5/5. The scene is low key and cool, a nice pub for having a pint where you receive a wooden nickel for each one. Service is generally described as amazing, great, and friendly, though also noted as spotty on one occasion. The staff is wonderful. There is a noted 3% surcharge on the bill to help top up wages for the staff, which you could opt out of.
