Las Pupusas

“I was hungry and in a hurry so I ordered takeout: a shrimp taco and a spinach and cheese pupusa. Wow! I've had many a taco and a few pupusas but not like this.As I always say in reviews, I'm a Parisian native and I'm pretty picky about my food from all regions. I was so pleasantly surprised about the quality of the ingredients and the freshness. It was really like home cooked food made by someone who cares. The pupusa was not deep fried, it was not greasy, it was just crispy enough on the outside and moist on the inside, and the cheese had flavor. The 2 small tortillas in the shrimp taco were handmade (!yes!) and flavorful, the shrimp was small but shelled, grilled, tasty and seasoned with cilantro, with the lime on the side and a slaw that was seasoned but not spicy (!yes again!)[Side note: I always have a problem with spiciness levels. My palate cannot handle heat and I usually ask for not spicy or mild and still end up with my mouth on fire. It's annoying that I have to settle for food that is bland because there is too much heat in the dishes with spices.]Anyway, I think the people who had a negative experience at Los Pinos probably didn't speak Spanish or their request didn't get across well. Because this is really good food, they care, and I'm grateful that I discovered them.I'm actually going back the same day to pick up more for dinner!“
