Charlie's Place Reviews
Refusing to let a 94-year old man sit until someone could get the table wiped down will come back as karma when you are 94. Really unnecessarily disrespectful to make us wait 10 minutes until you got around to it. And yes, he could have sat outside but at this age getting up and down is difficult. Karma awaits you.
Great place to eat and the staff is very friendly
Great food great portions. I’ve been going there for 50 years. I live in DC and I never miss a chance to go there when I’m in Gloucester I love the place.

Charlie's Place is a hidden gem in Gloucester, MA, serving exceptional seafood dishes in a cozy and casual atmosphere. This small restaurant, with around 10-12 tables and a countertop, is a must-visit for lobster roll enthusiasts, as it's considered the best in town. The fish chowder is a standout, made with fresh and locally-caught ingredients. The menu offers something for everyone, including vegetarian options and a great kids' menu, making it an ideal spot for families. The service is friendly and attentive, and the prices are super reasonable. Visitors enjoy the fun dinner atmosphere and friendly staff, who are very helpful with recommendations. The restaurant makes their own pies, and the blueberry pie is often praised as one of the best. The lobster bisque is fantastic, and dishes like crab cake BLT and fish sandwich are highly recommended. The fries are warm and crisp, and the haddock chowder includes a generous amount of haddock.
