well glad to see a third very nice restaurant in groton, too bad the previous restaurant here opened in conjunction with covid...sad!...well this place is lovely, the drinks and bartender were great, the appetizer, bluefish pate, was great, the chicken sandwich was disappointing however...well they have a good start and are very busy.....nice place!!
Great dinner from an excellent chef. Wonderful and attentive service from a friendly team. Great addition to Groton.

Puritan Tavern is a restaurant in Groton offering approachable food in a relaxed setting with a good wine list. The menu features small bites, a fall chopped salad, lobster deviled eggs, bluefish pate, a house made crab Rangoon dip, fresh Cesar, Parker house rolls, a chicken sandwich, steak frites, a pork chop on grits, and a warm chocolate bunt cake desert. Service is described as excellent and fantastic, and the building and atmosphere are lovely. The setting is comfortable, though the music was a bit loud. Food gets mixed reviews: some dishes are outstanding and delicious, while others were overcooked. Portions and pricing draw comment—entree prices seem very reasonable at first, but some entrees are small with no real sides, and rolls and butter are offered only at additional cost, making total meal cost higher than the menu initially appears. The restaurant is very busy and has a good start.
