Clam Box of Ipswich Reviews
Been going there for 40 years and always had a great experience, but went there on Thursday with the wife and was very disappointed. I got a Scallop plate which was fine and she got a clam plate which was awful. The clams were so small you could barely see them and we like big bellies they were basically just crust, she complained to a worker that was cleaning up outside and he just apologized. Not good for $40 dollars. Not going back there for a while now, Choate Bridge downtown...read full review
We drive 45 minutes to & from to eat at the Clam Box. My husband grew up down the street and I worked in town for 15 years. Plus my parents would take me there as a kid. ALWAYS consistent! ALWAYS delicious. 10 out of 10! Worth the wait in line at peak season every time!
Ended our Coastal Clam Chowder Tour with a Bang! Everything was delicious. Even our kids (4 & 7) finally tried & loved the chowder & clam cakes!

Clam Box of Ipswich offers amazing food at reasonable prices with generous portions. The staff is friendly and efficient, contributing to a clean and neat dining area that features a charming 60's and nautical theme. Customers highly recommend the two way combo and the best fried clams ever, often enjoyed with a drink. Although some suggest the shrimp dinner with onion rings and coleslaw could use more seasoning, the overall quality of the food is top notch. The restaurant has a decent outdoor seating area with picnic tables and a tent to provide shade during the busy summer months. Inside seating is limited but adequate for a great clam stop. Timing is important due to an oil change break around 2:30, but the oil is changed regularly, ensuring that the frying is light and crisp. With ample parking in a big gravel lot, Clam Box of Ipswich is a kid-friendly spot that offers a great dining experience worth revisiting.
