The music and ambiance were lively and exactly what I'd expect from my people but I made the mistake of trying the chicken and waffles. The chicken was not seasoned and overcooked. Waffles were very small compared to the large chunks of bland chicken breast. I probably should have ordered the mofongo and carne frita.
The beef pastelitos were delicious. I had the pork Mofongo. Didn't see the pork within the mixture at all, but it was still good with the garlic butter sauce. Mmm. Drinks were good and music was a vibe. Wasn't as full with patrons as it is most of the time. My friend enjoyed her food as well.
I really enjoy the drinks ... only ate a few dishes from here. Grilled shrimp with guacamole in plantain cups 😋 and pastellitos. They also have steak n cheese now which was good.
