This charming tea house in Lexington, MA, is a delightful spot that welcomes families, including children. They offer a kids’ menu, making it a family-friendly choice. Reservations are necessary and can conveniently be made online. For adults, there’s a vegetarian option available, catering to different dietary preferences. While the teas are served from tea bags rather than being freshly brewed, the establishment also provides alternatives like apple juice and hot chocolate for those who might not prefer tea. Uniquely, the tea house does not have a cashier; guests are asked to wait at the door upon arrival, where a staff member will greet them, check their reservation, and handle payment using a portable device.Kid-friendliness: The allow kids and have kids menu

I took my mother-in-law here for her first high tea experience ever and…she LOVED it! ?We had such a wonderful time. The owner is very kind and she’s from England! The decor is beautiful. I love all the unique and pretty tea pots and tea cups. It’s also nice that they offer a vegetarian selection of the tea sandwiches and it’s much appreciated! Each bite of food was absolutely delicious from the sweets to the scones, from the sandwiches to the fresh jam + cream. We will definitely come back again soon!We also loved our tea. I got the vanilla chai which was absolutely divine and my mother-in-law got the classic English breakfast tea. We sat in the window seat in the sunshine and had a very special afternoon. Thank you! ? ✨

This was my first visit to the tea room and it definitely won’t be my last visit. Everything about this establishment was excellent including the decor, china, food, tea and especially our server, Zoe! Quite a find!!

I had gone late last year and posted a less than stellar review. I recently went with a friend and I am thrilled to say that all of my concerns have been addressed. We had a wonderful time, the service was excellent and the staff were very caring. While I'm sorry I had to post the original review, I did get a reply thanking me for pointing out the problems. I consider that behavior very professional and exactly what a professional should want to hear and be made aware of. It was exactly that reply that made me give The Vintage Tea and Cake company a second chance. I'm glad I did. We'll definitely be returning.

Ambience was perfect “tea room”, lovely sunny space. Service was outstanding, attentive and welcoming. Sandwiches, baked treats and sweets were creative, tasty and traditional with an extensive tea menu and bubbles if you wish. Complete with British accent when we went.

Although a very nice setting and a historical town, my family and I went there for a birthday tea celebration and were disappointed to say the least. I thought I had told them to help us with the birthday and for a nice table but that did not happen. They put us at the worst table by the corner near the entry for the kitchen, which was crammed next to a 12 top for a bigger, celebration trumping ours. On top of that the incredibly small portions were almost a joke. I mean micro-size portions, and I had to order extra just to get something in our stomach. I know it's not supposed to be a gluttonous lunch but please a scone like 3 g and literally nothing to eat! On top of that I did not find the finger sandwiches were any good - so bad they held back on ingredients once again portion size. If you're looking for a meal plan on getting something after you eat! Also, the hostess is not take my suggestion on giving us a different table and I did not feel like being rude, but they certainly made me feel uncomfortable squishing us in the corner of the place!

This was such a wonderful experience for me and my family. They were able to accommodate 10 of us for tea to celebrate my grandmother's birthday and it was so enjoyable! The setting was so bright, calm, and beautiful, the service was fantastic and we loved all of the tea options to choose from. Everything we tried was delicious and this was such a unique family outing as it was something we've never tried before. I also really appreciated that they had kids menu options for my niece and nephew so they could enjoy food that was more in line with their tastes. 100% recommend anyone who is thinking of trying this experience!

This tea was not as detail-oriented as I would have hoped. The tea was from a tea bag, not loose leaf. The sweets were small. No one checked on my table for 45 minutes. I wanted to pay my bill and had to flag someone down.

Thank you for offering beautiful and delicious plant based (aka vegan) options, and patience with us as we were the last table to leave. You made us feel welcome all afternoon.Dietary restrictions: Vegan/gluten free options

Great location, wonderful staff. Check in was a little confusing because there wasn't a dedicated person checking you in, but everything flowed smoothly and it was very relaxing experience.

Tea was dilute. Had a party of 3 and the pot that came out was smaller than other tables. When i asked for more tea pls, server poured more hot water over same bag and was even more dilute. Finger sandwiches were a little on the skimpy side, again especially for 3. Chocolate truffles were ok. Baked good like scones were old and stale. Disappointing all the way around.

I have been to the Lexington Tea Room twice already and loved it! Great quiet place full of light, and the staff is wonderful. Love the way the food is served and the sandwiches, scones and pastries are delicious. They also have a very big choice of teas. I am telling many friends about this place! I will be back. ;-) Nicole Baker
