Living in Lexington we naturally have tried most surrounding restaurants. We LOVE Via Lago. It is not noisy. The food tastes very delicious similar to restaurants in New York City. Honestly…The atmosphere is calm, beautiful, with many seating areas. Prices are below other local restaurants. We are going again next week..I can hardly wait.Parking: Big lot 1 minute off side door.Wheelchair accessibility: YES… MY HUSBAND HAS TO BRING HIS WALKER.

At the suggestion of a friend I was visiting in Lexington, we had dinner at Via Lago, and I'm so glad we did. My main course, Penne Bolognese was excellent, as was the Caesar Salad. My friend reported that he was delighted with the salmon he ordered. Service was crisp and professional. The staff noticed right away that my elderly friend has a little difficulty getting around, and they politely offered assistance. Though he declined help, the gesture was appreciated. Nice ambiance: not overly fancy or trendy. Spotlessly clean. Overall great experience! Next time I'm in or near Lexington, I know where I'll go out to eat.

Kitchen forgot my order after 40 minutes. Owner didn’t want to take it off the bill (which she can only do). They made small talk with several tables around me, but stayed clear of me. Too many choices that care about their patrons.

Walked in with three adults and three children. They said our party was too big to be sat. Not because it was busy or anything, it was empty. We were told that there were only two servers and they couldn’t overwhelm them. I used to be a restaurant manager and I’ve never heard such a thing in my life lmao. If you’re from out of town, I wouldn’t recommend this amateur spot

Nice menu, food was good. We went on a night before a show at Cary Hall, so the restaurant was quite busy, but they made sure everyone was served in time for the show. We'd definitely go back next time we're going to a show there.

Great staff, the salmon was overcooked. Otherwise it was perfect.

We had an outstanding dinner experience at Via Lago last night. After a very stressful week, my mom, siblings and I wanted nothing more than a relaxing, tasty meal, without breaking the bank. We got that and then some, at Via Lago. Two of us ordered the beef tenderloin sandwich, served with perfectly cooked French fries. Delicious! And very moderately priced. Mom ordered and loved the penne bolognese. She loved it. The other sibling ordered a chicken, pasta, pumpkin dish, which she loved. Again, all were very fairly priced. Lastly, our server, Ashley, was fantastic. Very attentive, friendly, helpful and kind. We will definitely be returning to this lovely local gem!

Visited for the first time and enjoyed it quite a bit. Our waitress was excellent, very friendly and attentive. The food was good. I had the Acorn Squash Risotto which came with scallops. The scallops were perfect but there were bites of the risotto that was slightly undercooked. My wife got the pasta with chicken and butternut squash. It was delicious. I would get it again. For dessert we had a nice bread pudding. The clientele leans toward the retirement crowd. I believe we were the youngest guests by a good margin, but the atmosphere doesn’t reflect that and I left a little confused why there weren’t more families eating there. On top of good food and friendly service, the prices were reasonable. Entrees were almost all under $25. Bottom line, Via Lago is worth a visit.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu including grilled cheese and chicken fingers.

Went to this restaurant at recommendation from Lexington visitor center. Orzo chicken salad very bland. Sicilian salad bland. Quinoa salad bland. Better with some salt, and that is from someone who eats a very low salt diet. Serving size was good for the price. Biggest drawback was staff attitude. The lady who served me at the counter was gruff. She said pick a drink and I'll bring this out to you, and pointed to some very large plastic cups on the deli counter. I started to take one and said boy this is big, and she yelled at me "no, you have to look behind you." Then I took a soda from the wall behind me which I could not see upon walking up to order and turned to find a seat. After taking one step, a man from a different direction yelled at me "you have to pay for that first." I apologized, paid, ate quickly and left.

Cozy spot in downtown Lexington.. plenty of street parking, and easily accessible. The place was busy and seemed under staffed. The bartender was also the waitress. Had to wait quite a bit for service but Dawn was nice and apologetic. My girl loved the calamari and her risotto.. it reminded her of authentic Italian food. I enjoyed my chicken fettuccine alfredo once I added some parmesan.. there's also a bakery in the back.

We stumbled upon this after doing a tour. So for lunch. We were confused about ordering but ladies who were leaving told us what to do. My burrito was alright. I wouldn’t order it again. My boyfriend has the goat cheese and sun dried tomato sandwich and thought it was great. Great location for visiting Lexington. CHEAP Municipal parking close by. AND cute town! Oh you order lunch at the counter deli in the back and they bring it to you. Cards accepted.
