“Typical bodega, English is limited but the staff is very nice. If you can't speak Spanish- you can point to what you want and tell them the size. You can look at the menu and combo plates to have an idea what you want to order before you get in line. There's usually a lunch and dinner rush. Street parking is very limited. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. We've also got catering from here before when we have family over. Our usually go to is fried chicken, yellow price and beans, carne guisada (beef stew) , pollo guisada (chicken stew) chicharron (fried pork belly) , fried plantains, assorted empanadas and habichuelas guisada (stewed beans). The best beans in town! This is actually a bodega/grocery store where there's also Hispanic groceries and specialty products available for purchase. Great hole in the wall establishment! “Took a quick little stroll during lunch downtown lol I was in the area. Was walking downtown looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat and stroll by Banis restaurant and was able to grab some of their Spanish rice loaded up with some chicken sauce and couplebarbecue barbecue ribs. The ribs were a little dry, but very flavorful and the rice was on point! I definitely stop again for a quick cheap meal.“
