We specifically tried this place as it was the only 10 handed out by Dave Portnoy for their pizza. We ordered three pizzas and each was just as bad. There was no taste or char on the crust. The sauce was mediocre at best and the cheese was used very sparingly. We also tried the garlic bread with cheese and there was no taste to it. Can’t say I will ever go back. Dave Portnoy must have been paid off for his 10 review

Been going here for over 10 years.... I will never go back 9 months pregnant & ready to feast on their delicious pizza & salad dressing (you know if you've been) Cheese shaker was clogged up so we took the lid off to get some parm out, to find it gunked up with mold ? like it hadn't been cleaned in at least a year... The owner came over to the table to what I thought would be a simple apology berated me. Telling me it's naturally moldy and how expensive his "fresh" cheese was , and it's impossible because he hand cleans every shaker at that restaurant nightly, after the server had apologized that someone must've missed cleaning that one, unknown for how long due to considerable layers of mold The owner also repeatedly told me to not call him a liar (which I did not - I had only said that that amount of mold doesn't happen over night) and was off put by seeing accumulated LAYERS of mold lining the shakers top , I had hoped just to hear I'm sorry that was my experience , not to be told that he buys the most expensive cheese and that my baby will be fine ... beyond disappointment, I nor my family will be returning. I've worked it restaurant business for years & I know ketchup/salt pepper / whatever shakers can get neglected but to deny that there is an issue and speak to customers the way they did is something that left a worse taste in my mouth than the food. Experience aside , I have seriously seen cleaner bathrooms at truck stops. I don't know what is going on here but this is not the montes I remember. I also sincerely hope that there is an actual manager & that it wasn't who I spoke with because people at McDonald's have better hospitality than that.

i had to give this place a try , it is a bit of a Cult favorite on the North Shore, i have never even seen a Pizza with such a cracker like Crust, the Cheese and Tomato's were fine, actually very good, but the crust was not a factor good or bad, it had no flavor! just something for the Cheese and Sauce to sit on! just a weird eating experience! it is not a Italian thin Crust Pizza, it is its own thing. as i said it tasted very good, but i think i prefer something with a normal thin Italian Crust like Frank Pepe's or Dragon Pizza.

We came here from the south shore because of reviews we’d seen for the pizza. It did not disappoint! The crust was thin and crispy, and the cheese had really good flavor. It seemed to be a place were people were very familiar with each other. Overall, our dinner was great!!

I travel to Montes all the way from Chelmsford on a fairly regular basis, that should tell you something. I usually get the pizza which is out of this world, but I sometimes get other dishes there and everything is fantastic. Great food, wicked cool atmosphere, good service and you cannot beat the prices there. I love going to Montes.
Very good thin Italian crust pizza. This crust is crispy throughout. The sauce was not too sweet and the sausage and pepperoni toppings were top notch. I highly recommend the pizza.

I ordered a dirty martini along with a cheese pizza. The waitress complained about the freshness of the olives that were in supply. The martini came out with white flakes in it that are representative of olives non bad. The olive juice was used from a jar of olives that weren't meant for human consumption. The olives were shriveled and discolored. I told the waitress that I would be embarrassed to serve those olives in the drink. Her response to me was, "Well, this is just Monte's pizza. Ya know, it's not.............". Sorry................there's no excuse for poor quality.

Monte’s is the absolute best pizza and Italian food I’ve ever had anywhere. Thin, crispy crust, delicious sauce and lots of cheese. When I’m not in the mood for pizza, I get their outstanding chicken parm. You have to ask for the fried breast of chicken parm otherwise you’ll get a patty but it is seriously to die for. Any time I eat Italian, I always compare it to Monte’s but it never measures up. Small place, great servers, delicious food...you really can’t go wrong
