“From the parking lot, the tinted windows don’t do this place justice — but once inside, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s bright, clean, and welcoming, with an open kitchen and a small but well-stocked bar featuring top-shelf liquors. My takeout order arrived quickly, with generous lunch portions. The fried rice was excellent, and the egg roll was perfectly crisp without being greasy. The staff were very friendly, making the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be back and will recommend it to friends and family.“

“I can't think of a reason not to give 5 stars. We have been here 5 times in the last 6 years and it has been a lot of fun each time. The staff is awesome and welcoming, they put on a good show at the tables, and the food is on point. We visited last weekend and they cooked my tuna perfectly rare but seared. “Mai Place is not a large place, but the food is very good. Every time we have eaten here we have not been rushed and the staff was very helpful in helping to choose a specialty dish. There were several takeouts while we waited for our food to come to the table and everyone looked happy to receive their food package. “What happened? Are there new owners? This used to be the best Chinese Restaurant on par with China Temple in Brookline. The people at the front desk are very rude & not at all welcoming, & the take out food was terrible ( no inside dining during CIVID). I don’t mind paying their new higher prices, but do not cut back on the food quality. You have lost a long time customer.“
