Chinatown Stoughton Reviews
What happened? Are there new owners? This used to be the best Chinese Restaurant on par with China Temple in Brookline. The people at the front desk are very rude & not at all welcoming, & the take out food was terrible ( no inside dining during CIVID). I don’t mind paying their new higher prices, but do not cut back on the food quality. You have lost a long time customer.
There are a few dishes I always try at new Chinese places.
1. Boneless Spare Ribs: These were very good. More meaty than most other places, with a good balance of sweetness. One or two more dry pieces but overall top tier. A bit expensive.
2. For Sichuan places, Mapo Tofu: Entirely disappointing. Very little flavor, and not even a hint of Sichuan peppercorn. The main reason this place is dinged down.
3. Wonton Soup: I got the hot and sour wonton soup, which was good....read full review
I keep hoping that Chinatown would turn back to the culinary greatness of it's past. No such luck, it is pedestrian at best. The shrimp Ragoons were good, crispy and plump with flavor. The Pork soup dumplings were gummy and the filling was tough, unpleasant to eat. The boneless spareribs were tough and dried out. In all, not worth the money spent.

Chinatown Stoughton is known for its fresh and well-cut sushi and sashimi, as well as their savory, crispy, and tangy orange chicken. The restaurant provides excellent service, and the bartender contributes to a welcoming atmosphere. Although their website has some issues, the establishment's food and service make for a positive dining experience.
The restaurant is now under new management, and the owners have taken back the business. Customers have praised the great service, delicious dishes, and the fantastic lunch menu that offers endless combinations. The hot and sour soup, lobster sauce with pork fried rice, and the egg rolls have been particularly praised. The orange beef also received positive reviews for its tangy flavor and slight kick.
The spareribs on the bone have been described as some of the best, with their meaty, flavorful, and perfectly charred bites. Overall, Chinatown Stoughton has made a comeback, and customers are excited to see the restaurant return to its pre-2020 glory.
