“We recently had dinner at Nantucket Tap Room, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The restaurant itself has a cozy, charming atmosphere and the service was polite, though not especially attentive. We came in hoping for a solid meal, and while some things stood out in a good way, others really missed the mark. The wings were probably the best part of the meal. They had a great flavor and were served hot and fresh. That said, they were a little too crispy for my taste and slightly burnt around the edges—not enough to ruin them, but enough to notice. They could’ve been pulled from the fryer just a little sooner. Still, they were definitely enjoyable. For the main course, I had the swordfish. It was okay—not bad, but not particularly memorable either. It was cooked through and plated nicely, but lacked the kind of seasoning or bold flavor you’d expect at a place like this. It felt like it needed just one more element to bring it to life. Unfortunately, dessert was where the meal really fell flat. We tried a couple different options and none of them were great. The texture and flavors were off and felt like an afterthought rather than something crafted with care. For a place that clearly puts effort into its mains and apps, the dessert felt like a letdown. Overall, Nantucket Tap Room has potential and seems to do certain dishes well (especially the wings, with just a little tweaking), but there’s definitely room for improvement, especially in the dessert department. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again, but I wouldn’t completely write it off either. Maybe with a few updates, it could be a more consistent dining experience.“
