Went in this morning for Morning Buns at 7 on the dot, had to catch the first boat out. We walk in and ask for morning buns 20 minutes, then asked for breakfast sandwiches 10 minutes and then asked if they had any donuts ready the girl looked stunned and just said no. How do you open a bakery with nothing to sell? I really do love this place and have been coming here for 10+ years but how can you open your doors and not have food prepared.

This bakery should run a Master class on how NOT to run a business. Ooof. Horrific customer service. Every. single. Summer. We waited over an hour for morning buns that were raw in the center. After being told it would be at least a 45 minute wait, by a less than pleasant employee, , I took a number and said to my companion that we could run over and fill our car’s gas tank, to kill time….. Boy, was I schooled, in the nastiest tone by the young lady at the counter “um, like, um, you like can’t leave the premises”. Seriously? It would take less than 20 minutes to go fill my tank with gas and since the wait for the raw centered morning bun was “at least 45”, who cares. Nope. Never again. My wife refuses to patronize wicked island bakery, and now, so do I.

Ehh. This bakery overestimates their product. Definitely not worth the wait & rude staff. The staff has a deficit on communication & basic customer service. If completion opens its doors, WI bakery will need to close its doors.

The morning buns are the only reason to go to Wickrd Island Bakery…. Well, they used to be. We are seasonal residents who stop in to Wicked Island Bakery a handful of times each summer. This summer, when we were able to actually get the morning buns the buns
were uncooked in the center. The staff, which seems to remain consistent is comprised of POORLY trained young ladies who have a tremendous costumer service and communication deficit. If you walk in and they tell you it will be 45 minutes for the next tray, the translation of that istatement is 45 minutes until the next tray enters the oven. Yes, yes, staffing can be difficult in season but that isn’t an excuse for season after season of snark and eye rolls— just look at Nantucket bake shop, where the production like keeps up with demand and the staff has adequate training in customer service & is pleasant, not to mention that their doughnuts are out of this world, especially the jelly filled & Boston cream….. served w/o a side of rudeness & snark that customers at Wicked island have to endure for a mediocre, raw centered morning bun.

Morning buns are excellent, the rest is ordinary. Prices for the food and the drink are not displayed anywhere (This is a Mass Consumer Rigth Violation). $50 for 3 buns and 3 small sandwiches was surprising.

During our time in Nantucket, a local raved about this bakery's "morning bun" to my fiancé! We stopped in the following day and after one bite, as advertised, we tasted the difference.
Amazing bakery items - the best! Pre-prepared breakfast sandwiches are a miss.

Arrived around 7:30am and was told there was about a 45 minute wait for morning buns. Sat on their patio waiting and 45 minutes later someone came out and told us they made a mistake and it would be another hour. They told us nothing could be done and didn’t receive any kind of apology or anything to make up for it. Was just told “you can try to come back at 6am tomorrow.” Wasted an hour of my life to get nothing but bad customer service.
Everything is always very tasty

My boyfriend and I are obsessed with their donuts. Perfect every time, absolutely delicious. They remind us of sponge cakes, in the best way possible.

The food was good, a co worker and I went here to get a thing called morning glory cinnamon buns or something like that. My co worker ordered 12 of them and he was told he couldn't. he was only allowed to order 6 because it's a rule only 6 per person. So he ordered 6 and I ordered 6 and then he went to pay for them and they wouldn't let him pay for all 12 I had to pay for mine on my own. That makes absolutely no sense to me. Even though their coffee and cinnamon buns are very good I don't think I'll be going back there because of their rules or policies.

We tried 4 items: morning bun, pumpkin crumble, nosara spiced scone, and pumpkin scone.I think the morning bun is overrated ($5.35). It's small and absolutely smothered with sugar. Just way too sweet. The system for ordering these is totally non existent. Don't expect to walk in and get one right away. The employee told me "we have a batch ready to go in the oven. It will take 20-25 mins to bake and prepare, but we don't know when we will put in the oven. Can't give you any kind of estimate, just come by again whenever." Totally baffling. If you are really dying to try morning bun, call ahead and see if you can get any sense of availability and/or timing from them. The pumpkin crumble was amazing. Easily our favorite item. Both scones were decent -- less sweet but also less flavorful. If you're looking for something more subtle, go for the scones.
