The Indian food here is very good and extremely affordable!! The staff are always so nice and accommodating. By far the best Indian food around.
Delicious, authentic Indian food! We ordered takeout for six people and everyone loved it! The staff was very sweet, too. They even offered me a complimentary mango lassi. They also sell fried chicken and have an Indian grocery store, as well! I’m so happy to have this option for takeout in New Bedford!

Family Grocery & Hotbox Munchies is a very nice and clean place that also holds a restaurant inside a well stocked grocery. The shop has all sorts of Asian, Bangladeshi, Indian, Arabian, Cape Verdean, protuguese and Central American groceries. Halal beef, goat, lamb meat and all kinds of fish and seafood are available along with tropical fruits and many produces. The owner was kind and helpful and the staff was very kind, very attentive and very accommodating. The restrooms were clean and the dining room has wooden tables. The food is great, very reasonably priced and very well prepared. Popular dishes include Murgh Makhani better known as Butter Chicken, butter naan, fragrant rice, vege samosas, Paneer biriyani with complementary raita, and the Krunchy Chicken tenders and biscuits. Butter Chicken has a creamy tomato based gravy with garam masala, turmeric, chili powder and a nice heat. The samosas are crunchy maida flour puffs stuffed with potato and peas that are spicy, salty, sweet and a little sour with lime juice. Paneer biriyani shows paneer fried in ghee, saffron strands and Aloo bukhara for a nice touch. Portions are large, often enough for lunch and dinner. The flavors are perfectly balanced and the aroma is aromatic and fragrant. The staff and chef put a smile on each face, show warmth and pride in each dish. The overall experience is solid A, not pretentious, and worth a visit for people who loves great Indian, Bangladeshi and KKC chicken.
