There was a wedding going on in the next room so it was sooooooo loud we couldnt even talk to each other.

3 out of 4 of us were going to order scallop dishes, 1 fried scallops and 2 scallop risotto, and were informed they ran out of scallop's. Substitute meal had baked stuff shrimp that were way overcooked, french fries were cold and the clam chowder was flavorful however had very very little clam pieces in it. My wife ordered a refill on her wine that never showed up. Overall I was very disappointed with the food and the service - New Bedford has a huge fleet of scallop fishing boats that dock 1/2 mile away from restaurant...how do you run out of scallops

We can't make it before 1 pm for the Sunday Brunch. When we get there, the Beef looks like it's all we have left. Usually, a fresh piece of beef should be put out instead of offering people the scraps. This is the second time this has happened. The last time it was even worse; it was just leftover pieces, so there was no need to have anyone slice it for you — it was 'help yourself. I did take it because I was starving after church. Be that as it may, we'll still comeback because everything else was fantastic!

My aunt and I decided to go for brunch at Merrill's on the Waterfront 9/21/25 and it was spectacular. Food was excellent with quite an extensive menu offered (prime rib, pork, ham, scrambled eggs, home fries, tortellini, salad, sausage, shrimp mozambique, french toast, fruit, donuts, bagels, etc. Atmosphere was beautiful. It was peaceful allowing us to quietly catch up on things. Best brunch ever. Happy that I got to share the experience with my wonderful aunt. Look forward to enjoying another brunch at Merrill's on the Waterfront soon.

Our waitress Jennifer was excellent. She was informative, attentive and provided good service. The food was delicious, we especially loved the home baked cornbread and lobster crab cakes!

Was there for a private small nuptials dinner. Food was good , service ok, atmosphere ok. Did not venture into other parts of the venue but where we were was nice.

This was only the second time that my wife and I visited Merrell's. Both times we had the ocean platter. The oysters, clams and shrimp were excellent. We ate at the bar, so our server was the bartender and she provided top to bottom great service. In addition, she made an excellent espresso martini made with bullet bourbon instead of vodka. Our entrées consisted of chicken and beef, well presented and well cooked. Dessert was lemon berry cake that complemented the meal and matched with our cappuccinos, completed a great meal. We definitely will be back.

After having Merrill’s on my list of restaurants that I wanted to try for some time, I finally made it for their Sunday brunch buffet as a member of a large party.

This was no run-of-the-mill cheap quality brunch buffet either. From the breakfast items, to the lunch spread, everything we tried was delicious. I particularly liked their roast beef, brisket and desserts. They were simply delicious!

For the quality of food you receive, the price makes it one of the best bargains in the area. Service is very friendly and accommodating too. I would definitely return and recommend them to others.

We went to Merrill's for the first time yesterday. We went for the Sunday Brunch Buffet. The buffet food was mostly delicious. We were disappointed with the clam chowder though. It apparently was made with milk instead of cream so it was not as flavorful as the others we have at other restaurants. We feel the Shrimp Scampi should not be resting on top of the layer of rice but close to the metal bottom to keep it warm. We really enjoyed the tortilla, brisket, roast beef, smoked salmon, salads and cream puffs. Excellent value for the price. Very clean and staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful. We will come back.

This was the first time we went and I have to say I was impressed. The food was outstanding as the service was excellent. Our server was polite and friendly, including the staff that helped her. The prices were reasonable and the food was very good. We all had different meals and we all agreed it was very tasty. We will definitely be back.

Delicious food, our server seemed overwhelmed with the number of tables she had. We weren't in a rush, but the food came out a considerably long time after our appetizer & we would have liked our drinks refreshed when we got our meal. We had to ask for that from the food runner and it still took a long time for our waitress to come and take the drink order and then a long time for the drinks. Bartender didn't seem like much of help, the servers were all pouring their own drinks while she walked around and talked to customers at the bar.
