The Baker - New Bedford

It’s basically a perfect restaurant. It’s delicious, first of all. I could talk about the food forever; words don’t do it justice, you have to try it for yourself. Suffice to say: (1) it’s so good that literally everything on the menu is a must try, and (2) everything they do, from their regular menu items to their increasingly inventive specials, just makes sense. The staff are all the nicest people you’ll ever meet; it seems like this is a place where people genuinely enjoy working, and that lets people always bring their actual, genuine personalities to work. The overall vibe of the place is great, with great music that seems somehow perfectly curated and the feel of a neighborhood hangout spot. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel good, that you wanna go to when you’re having a good day but even more when you’re having a shitty day. If you haven’t been you need to go, it’ll change your life. 10/10, 5 stars, no notes.

This is the best place I've had hot chocolate. Every time I go, I try to get a chocolate croissant, which is rare to find at 11 AM as it sells out quickly. I've taken all my friends there, and they’ve loved it too. I can't say enough about how much I love the ambiance of this place.

This review has been long overdue. I swear I’m an unpaid spokesperson for The Baker. I will tell someone about it anytime they will listen. The linguica cheese rolls are THE BEST. The dough they use paired with ground linguica and the perfect ratio of cheese HITS every time. Then they make the best cookies. I can’t say which is my favorite but I get one every time, rotating which flavors I get. Now for coffee — I am iced coffee year round. They make the best iced lattes. 🫶🏻🙏🏻 I personally get mocha and caramel in mine but they also have specials for flavors too. If you don’t like coffee, I highly recommend the teas! The honey peach mango is so good but the new salted cantaloupe tea is SO GOOD. TLDR: The Baker is absolutely fantastic and has something for everyone.

A fantastic egg and linguica sandwich on an everything bagel was delicious and fresh. Dark roast coffee was perfect. The greeter at the door was a delight to laugh with. Outstanding.

There's no competition. Best bakery the city has ever seen. The croissants melt on the tongue; the bagels have just the right texture and chew. Then again, they do everything beautifully. Coffee's great too.
Staff are unfailingly social and courteous.

In my 36 years of life, I do not think I’ve ever had a better breakfast sandwich! This is the type of food that makes you happy and makes you do a little dance once you’re eating it. I ordered the everything bagel with bacon pepper jack cheese, and egg and let me tell you everything about it was perfect. The bagel is made in house and had the perfect amount of seasoning. The bacon was crispy And the egg tasted freshly made. If I could give this place more than five stars I would. If you’re googling breakfast spots in New Bedford look no further this is your sign to come to the baker and try their breakfast sandwiches!

Best bakery in New Bedford hands down. I try something new everytime I go and I’ve never been disappointed. The owner also has a restaurant Olivia’s which blew my expectations out of the water

I love going into this place the pastries are out of this world and the very nice lady at the cash register with the glasses is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure with dealing with. She's polite, prompt and caring a perfect combination. Iwill always come back when in the area
