This was our first time here! Food was greasy! The Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had! Staff were kind! The tap list is awesome! 10/10 recommend!
Good cold draft beer & sweet tender bourbon steak tips!!
We moved to Newbury 5 years ago and finally found our way to port Tavern a few weeks ago. We’ve had lunch there twice in the past month. Both times we have had great food and outstanding service. Thank you Kate and Chris! This is definitely on our go-to list!!

The Port Tavern offers a great pub atmosphere with sports on the TVs and a variety of beers on tap. The clam chowder is a must-try, although the Guinness Stout Cake may disappoint. The rest of the meals are good, typical pub food at a fair price. The fries are served hot and in full-length pieces. The beer menu includes a good selection of microbrews and classics. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing super service with water refills and even a dog water bowl outside. The space is very welcoming with beautiful brick and dark wood, and it is wheelchair accessible with a flat entrance and tables. Customers often enjoy the outside seating and the vibrant, party-like atmosphere in the back. Visitors can expect prompt seating and helpful staff, making it a nice place to relax and enjoy good food and drinks. Overall, The Port Tavern is a cozy, friendly spot that many find worth visiting.
