The homeless and the hungry💔
I was saddened greatly to see the Haymarket has closed "temporarily" and I hope, with every little bit of what''s left of my sad, Gen X heart, that the problems are overcome and it reopens because it serves a very important function. It's just the best. I mean, really, if I get to heaven and ask if there's a coffee shop, I hope, with all my sad jaded Gen X heart, that it's just like the Haymarket.
Haymarket Cafe is an outstanding establishment that sources its ingredients locally and offers a fully vegetarian menu. The kitchen staff is more than willing to accommodate dietary restrictions, and the cafe is kid-friendly, with a bustling atmosphere that doesn't mind a bit of noise. The front of the cafe and the bathroom are completely accessible to wheelchair users.
While the cafe can be a delightful spot with some of the best food in the area, the service and consistency can be hit or miss. The downstairs dining area is described as a bit of a mess, so it's recommended to dine upstairs for a better ambiance. Gluten-free options are available, but it's best to call ahead to ensure availability, as the cafe has been known to run out.
Reviewers have described Haymarket Cafe as a quaint cafe with a lot of personality, serving a diverse range of customers in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The cafe is known for its delicious vegetarian and vegan options, as well as its vibrant energy and artistic decor.
