“Where do I begin this review about such a great place? Let’s start with the gracious and welcoming owners, Leslie and Paul Cameron. On our visit there, we were greeted at the door by Paul as he welcomed us to his establishment. Our group immediately felt at home and knew this was going to be a good choice to indulge in some fine libation. Inside the taproom area you will feel the coziness of the New England style décor and design from the live edge maple bar and table tops to the post and beam construction. The tap list was a nice mix of stouts, porters, red ales and IPA’s which were served nice and cold, just the way I like my beers. We enjoyed all of our choices and would not hesitate to order again in the future. Live music was provided by a husband and wife duo singing popular songs that everyone could sing along too. They strongly encouraged we sing along and we may have surprised them with some of the songs that we could sing with them word for word. For those of you who may not be beer drinkers, fear not. Paul and Leslie also make delicious award winning wine in the refurbished 200+ year old barn next to the taproom. Leslie gave us a tour of the wine barn and I must say, what an impressive job they did with it. Inside the barn, you will quickly appreciate all the hard work that went into this place. Upon entry at the ground level, you will find a wide variety of bottled wines, cheeses and chocolates to purchase. The second floor follows around the inside perimeter of the barn with many tables, chairs and other cozy places to sit. A beautiful hand crafted bar can be found where all the wine tastings take place. The third floor is in the middle of the barn and follows the center line of the roof peak. It is an open floor design and both side of the second floor can be viewed from the third. All three floors are tastefully decorated keeping with the traditional New England style and further enhances the warmth and coziness of all the hard work Leslie and Paul have devoted to their business. On warmer days, there is ample outdoor seating with multiple fire pit locations to enjoy your drink and snacks in the fresh outdoor air. It was a bit chilly on the day of our visit, but we cannot wait to make a return trip on a warmer day for more enjoyment of the good company and drinks found at the Back Room Brewery. We will certainly be spreading the good word to many of our other friends to join us on the next trip. See you then and cheers!!!”

“Our family has visited twice now for our holiday get together, and I can't exaggerate how accommodating they've been. There are 20 of us altogether, including kids aged 2 to 14. Not only is this a beautiful venue with plenty of space, but they've always extended themselves to make us feel welcome. They've provided blankets so we can enjoy the fire on the patio, taken our family's picture, extended tables for serving food, and the beer and service are phenomenal. Thank you so much for your kindness, for giving us this beautiful space to celebrate with our loved ones, and for being such wonderful hosts. We will be back!”

“The food here is so good and there is a large menu selection. Last time we had the seafood pasta. It was amazing! This time I ordered enchiladas and my husband had the mussels. Both were excellent.”

“In the middle of tiny Bernardston, this is a cute little bakery. They serve excellent drip coffee to go (no cappuccinos or the like). The bakery is first class - we sampled an almond croissant, blueberry scone, a small cupcake and a tiny cheesecake (all much too good). You can see the immaculate bakery at work from the counter through a large glass window. They sell some clothing and local produce like maple syrup as well. Worth a stop.”

“Finally got to try the food here and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and professional and made me a delicious steak and cheese sandwich which I made short work of. Parking is convenient just off the street or in the parking lot across the road. I am looking forward to going back again soon!”

Worth the wait which is normally shot.Parking: The restaurant parking is limited however street parking and another area to park in a large open area behind restaurant next door.”

“What a fun place to discover! Our Smash Burgers and tater tots were amazing! The outdoor seating was cozy and fun. Indoor available if desired.The blonde ale was incredibly smooth.Friendly, professional service. Beautiful pasture and starry skies were the icing on the cake. “Outlaw Brewing posted a picture of their corned beef hash on FB and it looked so good we had to get off the couch and go check it out! We'd never been there before despite it only being 15 minutes from our house. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The place is adorable with lots of outdoor space for good weather. It was rainy and cold today so we got to enjoy some great music and entertainment inside their little tavern with fabulous ale and incredible food! It was a little pricey, but very worth it. They even had our favorite vintage video game... for free to boot! We'll definitely go back. I just wish we'd known about it sooner! The only thing that would've improved the visit is a nice cozy fireplace.”

“This spot was a happy pleasant surprise. If you're looking for a hearty American breakfast, this is not your spot, and that is a very good thing. Instead of the usual truck stop or diner fare, Upper Bend offers a carefully curated selection of delicious alternatives and artful spins on the usual breakfast menu.I had a latte and maple toast. My hubs had the monkfish toast, and we split a slab of basque cheesecake because, well, we were feeling decadent for brekkies.The latte was excellent, bold and strong, but smooth. The maple toast was perfect, because it was simple: crisp crust, soft center, and a solid maple flavor that was pleasantly not sticky sweet. The monkfish toast was amazing, like a reimagined lox bagel. The bread, pickled onions and greens all brought different levels of crunch, with the cream cheese adding a slightly sour base and the monkfish bringing a buttery mouth-feel.I don't regret getting the basque cheesecake at all. It was delicious. The center was light and custardy, while the outer edge had a more spongy cake texture, almost like two desserts in one. And it was lightly sweetened, not the instant diabetes norm for cheesecakes these days. Perfect.I'll definitely be back to nibble my way through the rest of the menu.”

“Perfectly delicious hamburgers, paddy melts, fries and onion rings. I saw a whole bunch of other sandwiches and items on their menu but I was a craving a bacon cheeseburger so my friend and I came here for a late lunch one afternoon after checking out the Montague Book Mill. Decor is clearly very dated but I find that adds to the charm. More importantly, place is very clean and given that it was a rainy, coldish kind of day outside, we lucked out and snagged a table beside the wrought-iron wood-burning fireplace. Even though it was late in the afternoon, the place surprisingly filled up quickly with other patrons. Foodwise, absolutely no complaints, they do all the old standbys perfectly well and even had Trader Joe's Organic Ketchup on each table. If I'm in the area in the summer, I definitely want to try out their ice cream.”

“I came here for the very first time and I absolutely loved it. The food here is really delicious , got to try the Cheese Ravioli that comes with in-house salad with your choice of dressing. Almost every entry comes with fresh Garlic Knots out of the oven, which is really tasty. Prices for drinks seem okay considering this is the only high-class restaurant that you can find in a golf course and the only one of a kind in Greenfield. “Visited on New Year's Eve for their prix fixe dinner. The food was delicious and unique.The atmosphere is cozy and just a little bit like a set for a play. After a while I started noticing interesting folks coming and going while my friend and I enjoyed our dinner, and our waitress seemed to be someone we had already known. I could have been sitting in an audience watching the would thing... and that was enchanting.I'll have to go back again soon!”

“As a former Memphis guy and KCBS Certified judge.. I can say, while Texas BBQ, it is truly the best BBQ I've had in the North, not just New England. The servers work as a tandem helping each other, and I've only seen that at this level at Houston's... Google it. Met the owner, who is very kind and I formative. Wait staff are amazing and attentive. Brisket was competitive level great. Chicken thigh was very tender, beans were great, Mac and cheese was good.. but the atmosphere was authentic and enjoyable. “Nice location and layout, with plenty of space for people and entertainment. Lightweight metal stools are interesting and sturdy, but not the most comfortable for more than a half hour or so. The beer is really good and they offer an equally good selection. There is no food to speak of unless a food truck is set up in the parking lot. Overall, it is a good gathering place to meet friends and hear some music, but I feel offering some basic munchies like popcorn, chips, etc., would go a long way to up their game. “Amazing brewery. I'd recommend this place just off route 2 when traveling. The bartender was a class act and made the experience that much better. The beer is excellent, I even had more later that night at a place in Greenfield. The vibe was great with good music and a good atmosphere. Not busy but my wife and I don't care about that usually, plus it was a Wednesday night. Heavy recommend.”

With my, and my son's, ADHD its difficult for us to focus on family conversation with that distraction In view. But that is very much just a ME issue that others may have no problem with. I’ve been buying Kelsey‘s bread for years now and it really is a nutrient rich, dense, healthy vegan bread, unlike some of the potato starch and egg breads you can find in the freezer section.The nut pies are mostly nuts, not sugar goo, and the crusts are light but hold together nicely.My daughter is mad got the whoopie pies.And now they have a bread CSA!!!”
