Spinelli's Function Facility; Pasta & Pastry Shop

Stopped in today to try their calzones (I’ve heard great things but haven’t had one yet). While I was looking around, one of the older white women working there stepped right in front of me without saying excuse me, cutting me off from browsing. It came across as rude and unwelcoming. Hopefully, this was just a one-off — but if it happens again, I’ll be speaking up.. Thank you.

I am attending a retirement celebration for an army veteran and police officer who served our country for 42 years. Though this is a beautiful venue, great service and food, I had to listen to the loudest music ever from another party in another room that was so loud that each speaker at this event had to basically yell to be heard. I believe the music came from a baby shower in a different room. With all due respect, it was disrespectful for the venue to have allowed this to happen to a man who dedicated his life for our country. Truly disappointed.

If you have a special event that you need some prepared food for, this is the place to go. The food is great and the selection is large.

I ordered a cake from Spinelli’s for pickup after 10 AM on Labor Day. When I placed the order, no one mentioned that the shop would be closing early for the holiday. I arrived at 2 PM to pick it up, but the store was already closed. Their website and Google Maps both showed the store as open, which added to the confusion.

I had to scramble to get a cake from another place for my event, and to make matters worse, my account was still charged for the cake I never received. I reached out by email and gave them my phone number, but they admitted they left a voicemail using the wrong last digit, so I never got any message.

When I spoke directly with the manager, I was told there was nothing they could do and that I still had to pay, even though the mistake was on their end. This is unacceptable.

I understand holiday hours can change, but customers should be clearly informed at the time of ordering, online hours should be updated, and staff should handle customer contact information correctly. Very disappointing experience, and I hope management takes accountability and improves communication so this doesn’t happen to others.

I like the Spinellis in East Boston way better I find the pastery stale and the food just okay. The Italian bread always has holes all the way through it . Prices are very high bfor mediocre quality.
