Zucker Foods

We ordered the poppyseed strudel, a half moon cookie, and a challah and they were amazing. There was a woman packaging a million challot in the next room and the whole bakery smelled great. Their challah is different than Rosenfeld's in Boston (which is more like a dessert to me); it's closer to homemade or what Bakey in Boston sells. Really solid baked goods.

I believe they open at 7 am but you should call first. My son has a dairy allergy and this place crushes it. The pastries/deserts are amazing from the chocolate, vanilla, red velvet whoopee pies to the blonde brownies. They are amazing and there is no way you can tell that they do not use dairy. The baker mentioned that can also do a birthday cake. I'm absolutely floored that this bakery isn't more popular. Grew up in the Jewish section of the Bronx and in my 50's now so have tasted my share of Challah's.I discovered Zucker's and it is by far THE best Challah! It is top quality, it is more dense which i love and the egg glaze is the best i have ever had! Jeffrey ...you have yourself a new customer! Outstanding!
