I loved talking with the owners. I had their IPA, as I am an IPA guy and it was great. Support the independent brewers!
I always visit new craft breweries wherever I go. This time it was Hot Plate brewery.
The brewery occupies a chunk of a mall in a busy area. Parking will be a problem, especially with the road repairs that were going on during my visit. There are public parking lots within a block or two from the brewery. There was a small area outside which might be a patio, but it was not set up. Hot Plate Brewing Co. offers an amazing brewery with a very unique beer selection. Everything was excellent, including a flight for $15. Notable beers include the coffee stout, which was perfectly balanced and not too bitter, the rural juror, which was memorable and full of flavor, the Spanish Spritz, the Hop Riot IPA, a black current sour, the high priestess, and the interruption. All brews are thoughtful and excellently well crafted. The environment is great, with owners who are great to talk with and deeply connected to their community, creating a deeply inclusive space. The bartender was lovely and gave great recommendations. Guests can grab takeout from tasty places within walking distance. This is some of the best beer available, and visitors are encouraged to bring a couple of friends to taste everything. It is a fun place to buy cans on the way home.
