We were in P town for 2 nights and decided to dine here our first night. The space, staff, menu all seem tired. They have a pretty extensive menu - but the food was just okay. Nothing special about it - the bolognese was just lame. It was very pasta heavy with a weak serving of sauce that added nothing to the dish. The veal picatta was drowning in a gravy. We opted to have dessert elsewhere.
We went to Sals place for dinner the next night which was a breath of fresh air on all accounts!

Very surprised by the quality of service and food! Sat outside (highly recommend, they have heaters) and we ordered the fried Zucchini as an appetizer. I got the special pesto chicken pasta dish (see photo). Both were great, the pasta dish a solid 9.5/10.

We have wanted to eat here for a while because we’ve heard a lot of good things about it and I know people who have eaten here and they enjoyed their meals. We had the complete opposite experience. When we first entered, I thought the space was very cool, but it was pretty well crowded and noisy. For some reason, I thought it would be very quiet and intimate down here. We both started out with wine and I had glass of super Tuscan that was $22, it was OK, nothing special. My partner had a glass of Chardonnay and he thought it was a little bit pricey. The bread that was brought to the table was tasteless. The olive oil had no flavor at all. We shared the beet salad and it was OK. I ordered fettuccine with a Bolognese sauce and my partner had a chicken and shrimp dish with a vodka sauce. When the server ever put my meal down in front of me, I just sort of laughed. There had to be a pound of pasta in there and maybe 2 tablespoons of meat and really no sauce at all. I know what Bolognese sauce is, and I make it at home and I occasionally have it while we’re dining out and this was not Bolognese sauce. Whenever I order Bolognese sauce out, there’s always a lot of the sauce with the meat on top of the pasta, this was all mixed in and sparse. I was going to suck it up and eat it but then I just said I do that all the time, so when our server came over to ask how it was, I said there’s just about no meat in this at all and she even admitted that it’s usually meatier. You’ll see the picture that I posted. She offered to bring another dish and I accepted and it was a little better, but even like the first one the flavor was off, I don’t know how to describe it, but the sauce just wasn’t right. It tasted old and burned. My partner‘s dish, the pasta was undercooked, and the sauce was over salted. The chicken was cut in little tiny cubes and was coated in a batter. There were two shrimp in the dish. The total came to $140 before the tip. The wall next to our table was coated in dried food and probably never cleaned. To top it all off, I got up to use the men’s room before we left and I always make sure I lock the door and while I was doing my thing, a woman walked in on me. I guess the lock on the door doesn’t work. After my experience, it felt like a tourist trap. I was really disappointed.

Provide one small piece of bread for each person and charge when asked for more. Shouldn’t have been necessary at the prices.

This was an amazing dinner! Our server, Vesel, was so knowledgeable and had great recommendations. The wine, food, and atmosphere were perfect. Would recommend for any trip to Provincetown.

We barely sat down & the waitress immediately told us the specials for the evening.. we hadn’t even looked at the wine list! We felt very rushed… Once we ordered, our food came WITHIN 5 min!! We hadn’t even looked at the menu…..no time to relax, & unwind which is what dinner should be. I feel the waitresses could be softer & more patient. The food was “ok”. I had the bolognese pasta…. It was “ok”. My wife had shrimp scampi…&… that too… was just “ok”.

We had a wonderful dinner here! While there are a variety of seating options, you have to sit in the seller. It’s like having dinner in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride/movie. Our server was so friendly and the space was warm and mysterious. All the foods we tried were fantastic. I recommend the meatballs, the veal piccata and their special salmon, if they have it. No wonder this place has been here so long; it is a true culinary testament and not to be missed while in Ptown.

The place is very nice and the food is great but we had a huge delay between our appetizers and the main course (over an hour) so I basically lost my appetite. An even bigger annoyance was that one of our mains was huge and could’ve easily been shared between the two of us. The waiter could’ve told us that. We ended up with a lot of extra food and an unnecessary expense.

We were lucky enough to sit at the bar the other night. What a beautiful place. Our bartender, Devon, took great care of us. It was iconic, romantic and delicious.

Disappointing. We really wanted to like the restaurant because the atmosphere is great and sets the stage for a nice dining experience. However, we were very disappointed by the food. Both our meals were under seasoned and flat, and didn't seem to align with the caliber of the restaurant which surprised us. It's a shame, because the atmosphere has so much potential.

Had a wonderful dinner at Ciro & Sal’s this week. I enjoyed the cozy environment, the tasty cocktail and the delicious salmon entree. We were a party of four, sitting in the back corner — the restaurant was full & lively but not overly noisy. We look forward to coming back!

My wife and I had another amazing dinner here, I believe our 5th visit. Exquisite dining experience from beginning to end. Our favorite place for dinner in Provincetown. Genuine Italian charm, world class charm from Nate and Amar.
