The Mews Restaurant & Cafe is an upscale dining spot in Provincetown, known for its exquisite food, top-notch service, and lively atmosphere. The restaurant features a fun and festive vibe on the upper floor, while the lower level offers a more intimate and elegant dining experience. The bar area is popular, offering a wide selection of cocktails and wines. Recently renovated, the decor now has a modern chic look, with the walls still waiting to be dressed up, adding a fresh and sexy touch to the space.
The menu is adventurous and interesting, with dishes like lobster risotto, carpaccio, shaking beef and onions, and a Cornish hen with butternut squash purée. Recent guests praised the scallops and mashed potatoes as unforgettable, and vegan options such as curry and cauliflower steak received positive reviews for their taste and presentation. Some starters, like the broth for dumplings and mussels, were criticized for being too salty, but the entrees remain very well-liked. The new renovation offers a great view of the water, enhancing the dining experience.
The staff are professional, friendly, and attentive, providing excellent service that many guests appreciate. The bar area is larger and more inviting, perfect for enjoying drinks and socializing. Despite some comments about the prices being a bit high, the Mews continues to be a popular and refreshing place in Provincetown, maintaining its reputation as a place where good food and good service come together.
