“I came across this business on the city of Quincy's list of local businesses open during the outbreak. I ordered some macarons for my fiance as a way to thank her for surviving one month (and counting!) indoors with me and our crazy dog. The macarons were great - a nice treat during a stressful time. The customer service was next level with quick responses to questions about inventory and pickup/delivery options. I will be a repeat customer.“

“Michette is a gem tucked into the ever-evolving landscape of East Somerville. From the outside, the charming signage with little cartoons holding croissants pulls you in, but it’s the feeling once you step inside that really hooks you.
Walking in, it almost feels like you’ve crossed into a different era. The rich, dark wood and bustling energy give it this kind of timeless, grounded vibe. You’ve got a crowd inside, all clearly here with purpose, as the team behind the counter works like a well-tuned orchestra, each person genuinely engaged with their craft. Watching them work—rolling dough, restocking trays—makes it feel like you’re witnessing something rare in today’s fast-paced world: people who truly enjoy what they’re creating.
In a city where larger, established bakeries often dominate, it’s inspiring to see a small, grassroots operation like Michette making its mark. There’s something special about seeing the community embrace a place that’s focused so much on quality and craft. Their strive for excellence doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s clear that they’re pouring everything into this spot.
I tried their canelé and chocolate croissant, which lived up to their reputation. The canelé was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and custardy within, and the chocolate croissant had these endless layers, each bite flaking away to reveal the deep chocolate tucked inside. You can taste the skill and attention that goes into these pastries; it’s obvious they’re baked with genuine love.
Michette feels like it could quickly become a contender for one of Boston’s go-to bakeries. I’ll be back soon, and if you’re a pastry lover, this place is definitely worth a visit.“

“Lots of attention given to drink preparation. Downside is longer what time for service.
Chocolate eclair was ok. Chocolate caramel cake was good without blowing it out of the park.
Dietary restrictions: Some gf options such as basque cheese cake

“My sister-in-law just sent me and my wife a door dash order to cheer us up, with cold brew and two pains au chocolat. I took one bite and… wow. Buttery but light and flaky, cooked just right - understated perfection in a bag! I grew up in France, and this is honestly one of the best French pastries I have had in 28 years living in the US. Even in France it's not every day you find one this good! We’ll be going there for more, can’t wait to try what else they have to offer!“

“Great food and just take out!
Less people and wait compared to the one in little Italy, so why not coming here!
The selection might be less though but they have mostly all the best items anyways and is a better location due to the proximity to Harvard which means more parking“

“Praliné is one of the best French pastry shops we have been to. It had a modern feel with ample of seating, the staff are pleasant and helpful and best if all the pastries are delicious. The shop is well stocked with high quality French teas and other goodies that can be difficult to find here. We tried only some of their sweet offerings, but they have sandwiches and other savory offerings as well.
The Paris-Brest was flaky and crunchy and the praline hazelnut cream really stood out. Mille-feuille, is a classic that if all too often disrespected; stale, soggy and hard all at once. Not here! This one was perfectly flaky and the pastry cream had a delicious vanilla flavor. The cannelé was nice and crusty on the outside and perfectly chewy on the inside, the rum flavor was somewhat lacking, but otherwise a textbook cannelé. We also tried a dessert called a pecan chestnut square. This one had thin chocolate covering that cracked and gave way to a pillowy chestnut mouse that was absolutely divine.
Praliné is among the best pastry shops we have been to in this country. We will definitely be returning whenever we are back in Boston!
Parking: There is no parking lot, but paid street parking is available. It is pretty close to a Red Line T-stop.
Wheelchair accessibility: It’s on the first floor with no obvious obstructions to wheelchairs.“

“My daughter stopped in today on her way out of a drs appt. She brought home 2 perfect pistachio croissant and a box with 12 macaron. Everything was delicious. I don’t understand the limits! Her trip here must have been after noon time (1-2pm). They said one croissant per order, but since it was her and her bf they allowed them to purchase two. I understand not wanting to sell out at 8-9am and perhaps limiting, but all our money is the same! If someone gets there and waits in line and has money, sell to them! Mid afternoon limits seem silly. I’d think they would want the cases empty by closing time. I have waited 2 months to enjoy something from there. I hope to be able to purchase and try more, but we are an hour and a half away. I’d be so disappointed to go all that way and not be able to purchase a healthy size box/order. Please rethink the limit stuff!! Sincerely the best macaron and croissant I’ve had at 51 years of age! Can we order ahead and pay?“

“Is everything here a 5/5? No, but are a majority of things here incredible? Yes. And just the mere fact that no other place does what they do alone makes this a 5/5. Where else can I go to get the quality and abundance of amazing cronuts or delicious creamy cakes in Boston? Sadly, there are so few proper bakeries in this city and this location is a godsend.“
