This local spot was hopping on a Monday evening. I ordered take out and arrived early and had a Margarita ($12.75) at the bar. Someone did offer chips & salsa but I declined. I ordered the house margarita and it was prepared with a mix and for some reason no salt on the rim. I think I saw the bartender make it with Hornitos tequila which is my favorite. I ordered the taquitos, tortilla soup, enchiladas, quesadillas, and a side of beans. The food reheated well and was packaged...read full review
Been going here for… 15 years? Great food, excellent margaritas, and it’s big enough that we never have to wait. Never change, El Tap!
Food was amazing, our server was fast, attentive and on top of everything we needed. Definitely will be returning

Based on reviews, El Tapatío Mexican Restaurant is a local spot that feels like coming home. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, though it can get noisy. The service is excellent, with staff who are super friendly, have big smiles, and treat customers well. The owner offers a genuine, personal touch. The food is authentic, freshly prepared, and delicious. The fajitas are great, and the nachos are piled thick with chicken, guacamole, beans, and sour cream—the best. The steak tampiquena is tender, and the mojito is the best ever. Portions are very generous. The house margarita is prepared with a mix and Hornitos tequila. The food reheats well and is packaged with care, though they still use styrofoam. Parking is in a big plaza with a big lot, and it is never a major problem. It is kid-friendly with a kids menu, and has a separate dining room for larger groups. It is an excellent experience and a new favorite.
