Cape Verdean take-out. It's basically comfort food (NOT spicy) w/ Cape Verdean specialties you won't find generally. It's definitely worth going out of your way for, if you crave this cuisine.Little or no English spoken. No seating!
Sometimes basic food is what you need most. This tiny cafeteria style restaurant offers several fish dishes and varieties of rice or couscous with beans and rice. You can mix and match. My favorite is the bacalao. Say "yes" to a spoonful of vegetables even though it's just a medley of steamed carrots, beans, broccoli and greens. It was such a pleasure meeting Ana. She cooks everything fresh daily in the back of the shop. We got a lot of food for a very great price. Everything tasted delicious and reminded me of my grandmas cooking. The flan was the best we've ever had which says a lot considering we are used to flan( my fiance and her family is from cuba). You won't be disappointed.
