Great tacos! The codfather taco is great and in my opinion the best. One downside to this place is that there is no seating area for to go orders. Another is the service is sub-par, the bartender who was also the hostess was very rude and disrespectful. Lastly, the portions are very small for the price, so yes, it is expensive, but the tacos are great. 👍

What’s the cure for a terrible day? Tacos and tequila obviously. This is quickly becoming my go-to spot for tasty, celiac safe tacos, kick ass margaritas and staff that are appropriately friendly and attentive without being annoying. The Thai chili tofu tacos are life.

Yanno it sucks that I’m writing this review right now because a few months ago I was telling all my friends how much I loved it here… well long story short the past few times I’ve eaten/ ordered from here it has been pretty awful… The food used to be great but now I rather go to Qdoba… after tonight I’m never eating here again. 3/4 rice- barely half of what I ordered on my bowl and not even half the amount of protein as usual… HONESTLY PROBABLY WOULDNT HAVE MADE THIS REVIEW IF THERE WASNT LITERALLY 3 BITES OF MEAT IN MY ENTIRE BOWL. I’m pissed and literally had to make Mac and cheese after I ate from here because I was starving still (after my same order than I order every time lol!) pretty pathetic… hope yall do better for the small amount of customers that are left. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they close down by 2027…. Thanks again for being overcharged for a pathetic meal.

We got the make-your-own tacos & tried the Chorizo, seared mushrooms & Tofu. All good, but the mushrooms had the most flavors. We had them with Chimichuri sauce. Sooo good!!

I got the Freakin’ Vegan taco special which was flavorful and filling.

Our server Nelson gave us the perfect drink and appetizer suggestions for lunch. Tacos were incredible, margaritas were delicious, and the service was fast, friendly, and helpful. This is our third time trying Barrio on our visit to Salem, and they haven’t disappointed yet!

Hot Mezcal drink was spicy and delicious. El jefe taco was delicious. Server Nelson was great and had excellent recommendations for what to do in town after.
10/10, does not disappoint. Our server Nelson was awesome and had great suggestions. The food was killer, drinks were excellent. Atmosphere was great and pricing is good for the quality of food.

Ordered online and didn’t get my full order. Emailed customer service address and never heard back. Total waste of money. I’ll never go back again. We used to go to the Haverhill location all the time and after my experience at the Salem location we won’t be taking our business to any Barrio again.

I would avoid this location of Barrio. I’ve been to others but this one is NOT good. We went here for a fun night of tacos since we love Mexican. The chips and salsa were so salty, we couldn’t eat many but the worst was that the food was burnt, taste burnt but ironically cold in terms of temperature. I got tofu and it was ROCK hard, beans and rice were congealed. When we told the manager, he proceeded to touch the food (weird, but ok) it was visibly burnt as in dark brown taco shells and he confirmed the food shouldn’t look like that. We didn’t eat but yet paid for food….literally it all went back. The manager comped part of our meal but we literally ate nothing. I wasn’t going to make a big deal but if I was the manager, I wouldn’t have let our group pay. I still planned to tip our waitress bc it wasn’t her fault.
To recap, come here for the fun vibes, but not the food. We even disliked our drinks which were poorly made (the jalapeño tequila tasted weird). The artwork on the building is really cool, though so there’s a plus.
UPDATE: management replied to this review but when I emailed them, they didn’t reply. Even when I contacted general customer service, no response. Definitely won’t be returning.
