Main courses and cocktails (sangria in specific) were delicious. However, the salad and bread needs work due to the high price range ($16 for salad). The break was cold and stale. The lettuce was wilted. Our service was wonderful despite the disappointing pre dishes.

We loved the veal mushroom and beef bourguignon. Absolutely delicious. The appetizer gamberi all’aglio in salsa picanti was also extraordinary.

Can I give 50 stars instead of 5? This place is UNBELIEVABLE. I was startled at first for the small size of the sitting area, as I struggle with small places but it wasn't crowded and that made me feel more at ease. The décor is outstanding and you feel in every detail the love that put this place together. The homemade food is otherworldly delicious and I wasn't hungry but ate every last bite. I can't wait to go back. The service is so personal and authentic, their handwritten menu for daily specials is the cutest thing and I wish ALL restaurants in the world were as good as this is one.Vegetarian options: There's enough options to be worth the visit!Dietary restrictions: As it's homemade food, any possible modifications can be requested and applied to attend dietary restrictions.Parking: There is no parking immediately nearby, unless you're staying at the Hawthorne hotel and park there. A couple blocks away there's a paid parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Doesn't really feel the place you want to bring kids to, it's fancy and small so I don't recommend unless you have very quiet, calm and controlled kids.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is a bit complicated due to some stone blocks on the street itself however it's on the first floor and inside the access is easier.

My family and I literally adore this little hole in the wall. It is so amazing and adorable inside. My waitress, Christine was so kind, friendly, and efficient. I recommend making a reservation, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. We will be back every single time we visit Salem!!!

My wife and I recently stayed for a few days in Salem and we wanted to check Bella Verona out as we had an Italian good craving and also recognized this restaurant from Season 13 of Real.Housewives of NYC (don't judge me LOL). I am so glad we came here because the food was EXCELLENT! Everything was fresh and priced accordingly. The staff were so nice and thwy have outdoor seating with space heaters. We highly recommend Bella Verona.

My partner and I have been coming here for 5 years now! The seafood risotto is to die for, one the best I’ve ever had. Also recommend the bruschetta!

An intimate setting in a charming trattoria on Essex in Salem. The food was really quite good, and fresh ingredients were put together for a great wedding anniversary meal.

Stopped by to look at the menu late evening in October and asked about reservations for the next night. We were told that there were no reservations available but they would be able to accommodate walk ins. Next night, sure enough, we stopped by again and got a table. Tiny but very nice inside. They also have seating outside in the front of the building. They had a smaller menu to make things simpler in October when everything is a little crazy in Salem. I got the tortellini in a creamy sauce with peas and mushrooms. If you don't like mushrooms, get this dish anyway, the mushrooms are big enough to push aside. I asked them to go light on the sauce because i hate when my pasta is swimming. The tortellini was very good? I would for sure order it again. The portions are not giant so if you are very hungry you can finish the whole plate. I also tried a cannoli which o have to admit, wasn't the greatest. Could have just been that I am used to the type that they make in NY. The filling was very light and not sweet and im used to a dense sweet filling. I can see that people would like it but it just wasn't for me. The staff were amazing, very nice and attentive. Even with all the crowds of tourists and rushing around, they took their time taking the orders and checking to see if we needed anything. I would definitely go back.

The restaurant is small and intimate which is really cute. The service was great. I was very excited to try because of the good reviews. Unfortunately I was disappointed that our food were not as great as the reviews. Both of our food were bland, no taste at all.
