Best tea shop on the north shore easily!
Lots of tea options
Love the variety of teas available. If you can't find something you like, there's probably no pleasing you.
Super cute tea shop offering desserts and afternoon tea service. Great service and friendly staff. Public restrooms available.
We came here years ago and really enjoyed it, but this time we had a terrible high tea experience. Service was awful - there were lots of staff, but all were chatting to each other and ignoring customers. Getting milk for the tea, the next course, etc required repeatedly going up to ask. Tea was served in plain coffee mugs, which in addition to the poor service, made it not feel special at all. Food and tea was okay but way overpriced for the experience. Would not recommend.
Nice place and very friendly, informative staff. Teas were good, and purchased a bunch of stuff for home. Very nice variety of teas, too.
They have so many varieties of teas and all of the ones I have tried are so good. Their pastries are also so worth it. It does get packed and it may be hard to find a table. I also think they could improve the ambiance.
Best place in town for a high tea experience.
Almost perfect. So cute and such a great vibe, but the tea sandwiches and scones had clearly been out for a long time and were dried out.
I was very disappointed in this place. The reviews are great and cafe is all over social media so I was very excited for afternoon tea here. The atmosphere was adorable but the staff and food were very lacking. We were seated and waited for about 20 minutes before someone brought out the tiered tray for our tea. They grabbed the menus and started to walk away. I had to ask for cutlery and if we could get a glass of water and order our tea because no one came by to take our order for that. We sat there with our food waiting for at least another 10 minutes if not longer when I had to ask again for our tea and water. Our tea came out and I had to ask test again for water. The pumpkin macaroons had a wonderful flavor but were very chewy, more brownie than macaroon. The chocolate one was perfection. Two of the three finger sandwiches had a cream cheese and chive base so there wasn’t a huge difference between the sandwiches. The scones came with a hard sugary lemon flavored coating much like you would find on a sugar cookie. It was good but a lot more sugar than I was expecting or wanting because they also had Madelines on the tray as well. For the price and service, we were not impressed and won’t be back. I don’t mind waiting and completely understand this is a busy season but offering water and making customers feel welcome is a very basic service that we did not receive yet paid a lot of money for.

This is the most lovely spot, with the friendliest staff, and some of the best tea and food I've ever had. Both locations are gorgeous, comfortable, and consistent. I love the popcorn tea, the tea sandwiches, the macarons, the quiche, just an awesome experience. I'm not at all surprised that they always have tables reserved. Thank you be back soon!
The cafe itself is very cute! The desserts were absolutely incredible. I'm honestly not a huge tea lover but the SoHa Blend was pretty good. I wish I had the chance to ask for cream and sugar but the whole experience was...confusing. We were immediately greeted and seated upon our arrival but never told to select a lunch entree from the little menu. It honestly wasn't very clear because most of the entrees were quite fancy (lol) and had things I didn't understand. I couldn't tell if they were appetizers, entrees, or what. I got some sort of salad that came with little slices of toasted bread and warm goat cheese. The bread was delicious but the salad was awful. A big plate of weird greens and hardly any dressing. My sister got the red pepper soup which literally just tasted like pasta sauce, super weird! I guess the girl was a server, since she brought our appetizers, entrees, tea & desserts, but she never checked on us and was always in such a hurry. She was the only person serving maybe 3 or 4 small tables and I also think she had to make some of the food and drinks. It was just weird, we had never been to anything like this before and I guess I just expected them to be a little friendlier and helpful, especially since Salem is a huge tourist spot in October. I also have to admit that I accidentally ordered the full lunch when I only meant to order the high tea with 3-tiered desserts, but when I made our reservation months ago, it was very unclear on the website. I couldn't find a menu or anything describing what we would be getting. They have obviously updated it since then because as I was watching the other tables get their tiered trays, I went onto their website and immediately saw all of the descriptions. And I truly don't think I just "missed" the info on their website all those months ago. I did my research to prep for our two days in Salem! I guess I just should've checked back more recently, that's on me. Anyway, as I said, the desserts were incredible, but unfortunately other than that, I was disappointed. We already have another Salem trip booked for September next year and I plan to book another reservation (the right one this time!) for high tea. Now that I know what to expect, perhaps it'll be a better experience next time.
8 staffers and customers are just waiting. Cashier at ‘order here’ has slowed everything. One and done.
The waitstaff and ambiance are absolutely wonderful however the food is inedible. It was so disappointing to bring a party of 6 and spend over $700 for stale, previously frozen food. Everything from finger sandwiches to the grossest petit fours I have ever witnessed were disgusting. The three tiered dish was even crooked. It could have been a wonderful experience if they change up the caterers.
I go to Jolie Tea around once or twice a year to stock up on good loose leaf tea. The staff are always exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable, and I often get freebies (a loose leaf tea sample, a cup of brewed tea, etc.) with my purchase. Their selection has both solid basic blends and unique experimental ones. In my opinion, the tea is a tad expensive relative to teas in general, but the quality is well worth the price if it’s within your budget.
