I was very disappointed in this place. The reviews are great and cafe is all over social media so I was very excited for afternoon tea here. The atmosphere was adorable but the staff and food were very lacking. We were seated and waited for about 20 minutes before someone brought out the tiered tray for our tea. They grabbed the menus and started to walk away. I had to ask for cutlery and if we could get a glass of water and order our tea because no one came by to take our order for that. We sat there with our food waiting for at least another 10 minutes if not longer when I had to ask again for our tea and water. Our tea came out and I had to ask test again for water. The pumpkin macaroons had a wonderful flavor but were very chewy, more brownie than macaroon. The chocolate one was perfection. Two of the three finger sandwiches had a cream cheese and chive base so there wasn’t a huge difference between the sandwiches. The scones came with a hard sugary lemon flavored coating much like you would find on a sugar cookie. It was good but a lot more sugar than I was expecting or wanting because they also had Madelines on the tray as well. For the price and service, we were not impressed and won’t be back. I don’t mind waiting and completely understand this is a busy season but offering water and making customers feel welcome is a very basic service that we did not receive yet paid a lot of money for.

This is the most lovely spot, with the friendliest staff, and some of the best tea and food I've ever had. Both locations are gorgeous, comfortable, and consistent. I love the popcorn tea, the tea sandwiches, the macarons, the quiche, just an awesome experience. I'm not at all surprised that they always have tables reserved. Thank you be back soon!

The cafe itself is very cute! The desserts were absolutely incredible. I'm honestly not a huge tea lover but the SoHa Blend was pretty good. I wish I had the chance to ask for cream and sugar but the whole experience was...confusing. We were immediately greeted and seated upon our arrival but never told to select a lunch entree from the little menu. It honestly wasn't very clear because most of the entrees were quite fancy (lol) and had things I didn't understand. I couldn't tell if they were appetizers, entrees, or what. I got some sort of salad that came with little slices of toasted bread and warm goat cheese. The bread was delicious but the salad was awful. A big plate of weird greens and hardly any dressing. My sister got the red pepper soup which literally just tasted like pasta sauce, super weird! I guess the girl was a server, since she brought our appetizers, entrees, tea & desserts, but she never checked on us and was always in such a hurry. She was the only person serving maybe 3 or 4 small tables and I also think she had to make some of the food and drinks. It was just weird, we had never been to anything like this before and I guess I just expected them to be a little friendlier and helpful, especially since Salem is a huge tourist spot in October. I also have to admit that I accidentally ordered the full lunch when I only meant to order the high tea with 3-tiered desserts, but when I made our reservation months ago, it was very unclear on the website. I couldn't find a menu or anything describing what we would be getting. They have obviously updated it since then because as I was watching the other tables get their tiered trays, I went onto their website and immediately saw all of the descriptions. And I truly don't think I just "missed" the info on their website all those months ago. I did my research to prep for our two days in Salem! I guess I just should've checked back more recently, that's on me. Anyway, as I said, the desserts were incredible, but unfortunately other than that, I was disappointed. We already have another Salem trip booked for September next year and I plan to book another reservation (the right one this time!) for high tea. Now that I know what to expect, perhaps it'll be a better experience next time.

8 staffers and customers are just waiting. Cashier at ‘order here’ has slowed everything. One and done.

The waitstaff and ambiance are absolutely wonderful however the food is inedible. It was so disappointing to bring a party of 6 and spend over $700 for stale, previously frozen food. Everything from finger sandwiches to the grossest petit fours I have ever witnessed were disgusting. The three tiered dish was even crooked. It could have been a wonderful experience if they change up the caterers.

I go to Jolie Tea around once or twice a year to stock up on good loose leaf tea. The staff are always exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable, and I often get freebies (a loose leaf tea sample, a cup of brewed tea, etc.) with my purchase. Their selection has both solid basic blends and unique experimental ones. In my opinion, the tea is a tad expensive relative to teas in general, but the quality is well worth the price if it’s within your budget.

Food took an extensively long time after our reservation time, was stale, and didn't have much flavor. Was bummed because we really looked forward to the experience.

Good place, no soda. I asked if I could walk to my house and get one and just pay for a a water and not get one because I don’t like water and I’m type 1 diabetic. So I would pay for a drink/ not get it and just get my soda. Came back in and the lady said I couldn’t bring a drink, I explained it to her that one of the girls said it was and that I payed for a drink I didn’t get so I could get my soda. she gave me this really weird look like I was lying when I explained it to her. Not my fault I asked and was told yes and brought it. Definitely put me off from coming here when I literally live down the street

IF YOU'RE IN TOWN, COME HERE, AND THEN COME HERE AGAIN! My husband and I stumbled upon this place and loved it so much that we decided to come back the next day. They have an AMAZING selection of teas, SO MANY FLAVORS of delicious, perfectly chewy macarons (our favorites were crème brûlée and Earl Grey), and the atmosphere is so adorable and relaxing. 10/10, no notes.

Mom and I had high tea. They were very accommodating about our food allergies and dietary restrictions.
Try the Witches Brew tea!

I was really looking forward to my high tea reservation at Jolie Tea Company during my birthday week. It was my first visit to Salem, a reunion with my best friend, and we had a lot to celebrate. After researching places, Jolie Tea seemed perfect, especially since they advertised being able to accommodate specific allergy needs.

Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and confusing from start to finish. I made and paid for a reservation five days in advance, but when we arrived, we weren’t on their list. Instead of quickly looking me up in their system, the host asked me to prove my confirmation number. After showing my email, they finally found it and the host said, “despite you not being on our list, we’ll still seat you.” This felt rude, as the oversight was clearly on their part.

The rest of the experience didn’t improve. The food was underwhelming, and for $36+ tax and tip per person, it certainly wasn’t worth the price. They forgot to include the macarons in my spread, and a couple of the baked goods were hardly edible, I would have bet money they were pre-packaged. Worse yet, both my friend and I ended up feeling ill later in the evening, likely due to cross-contamination even with their claims of being allergy-friendly.

I had hoped for a memorable and enjoyable experience, but unfortunately, Jolie Tea Company missed the mark in both service and quality.

It's a great atmosphere and decor. The dessert we got was amazing; profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and fudge sauce. So good. We sat in the room with couches which was fun. The only thing that was disappointing was that the tea I ordered was weak. For some reason, with the pot, they don't let it steep rather serve it quickly without the tea leaves. Next time I go, I will make sure to ask them to make my tea a double and leave the tea leaves to steep!

I got a tea and a scone to go. I got the Remembering Paris it was very good. The service was excellent the woman working at the counter (I wish I got her name) was so nice and made us feel really welcomed and comfortable as we were kind of overwhelmed. Smiling, asking us if we had questions, letting us use a full menu to look at what they have etc. Top notch service in a world where a lot of times that is not the case. Definitely going back to sit down and have tea etc next time.

jokie’s tea went above and beyond even prior to me coming! i mentioned some concerns & they reached right back out to assure me i’d be ok in their establishment & that the whole crew would take care of me. the tea was amazing, the making your own blend was fun, & the fact they incorporated vegan substitutes for dairy. i just can’t explain how safe i felt there, and that says a lot. im constantly worried about going places but i didnt even have a single negative thought. id recommend to anyone. such a cute caring place. so full of love & kindness! thank you so much for making my first stop in salem perfect.
