Portions were very large, appetizer was generous, couldn't finish dinner. sangria was delicious as was dessert. Staff was extremely nice, helpful w menu suggestions. Didn't wait long for food. Price was likely average for the area and menu. Would recommend if in the area and don't want to go into Boston

Abby our bartender was excellent!!
Recommend many items on the menu.
Great atmosphere and super chill. W head live music as well. Our second time. The themed drinks are super! Get the house of seven gables and the see no evil drinks.

Nice quiet place to have dinner and listen to piano music. The pianists play many different styles of music. The seafood chowder is the best we had during our trip. You really taste the seafood. The drinks were small but were the best of my trip. We stayed in the hotel so it was convenient at the end of the day.

We ate breakfast at Nathaniel’s. It was absolutely wonderful! Their parmesan crusted fingerling potatoes are to die for! My husband got an omelette & it was wonderful! Service was excellent, the atmosphere can not be beat. I loved this restaurant!

Breakfast here is wonderful! We dined in here for breakfast during our stay and completely enjoyed it.

My kiddo had a waffle with mixed fruit and Nutella (she was on a waffle kick, and this was her second one in a row from the second restaurant while in Salem), and she couldn't stop smiling. She all but inhaled her food. I don't think I've ever seen her eat so fast. Whomever cooked her breakfast absolutely made her day.

I had the omelet with cheddar and bacon, a side of parm crusted potatoes and cinnamon raisin toast. It was delicious.

Again, I have no notes. The Hawthorne Hotel restaurant staff absolutely knows what they are doing in the kitchen. The wait staff are very friendly and professional, the ambiance is lovely, and the decor is cozy and elegant all at once.

An awesome experience. Got to try some food I don't normally get. Had the cheese and charcuterie board. So so good. Ordered a cup of seafood chowder which was exceptionally good. Then finished off with a really good hamburger. It all was really really good. Service was great. No waiting on a weekday. Highly recommend this place if you want a good sit down meal.

We were staying at the Hawthorne Hotel so obviously it was in there and convenient. I did not expect the food to be as good as it was. Very happy with the selections and the sausage was so crispy and good!

Wow what delicious breakfast! We stayed at the Hawthorne and went to Nathaniel’s for breakfast and everything was amazing. I ordered the poached eggs and toast and my fiancé ordered the French toast and we must not forget the tasty mimosas! What a way to start our day! The staff were very attentive and welcoming as well. That is one of the first things I notice everywhere I go and Nathaniel’s was top notch! Also if you love the historic factor Nathaniel’s is the place to go!

We went for breakfast. Quiet restaurant. Staff friendly. Food choice good. Had french toast with blueberries and caramel sauce.

I would skip if you don’t have all day. We had reservation for 2pm. We arrived at 155 and they weren’t ready for us. We eventually left at 245 when they still didn’t have a table. Not sure the point of the reservation. Maybe easier to just show up. Hostess also spent most of the time in a room off to the side to not have to talk to the guests. They are busy during brunch/lunch so terrible service must not be effecting them too much so might just not care. I view this more as a place people traditionally go, as opposed to a place you really need to go

We drove pass Nathaniel’s and figured we would stop. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE!!!! Our son goes to Bryant University, great atmosphere! Love Jose, the food and the drinks. Music on weekends would be a shame to miss!!

We had to find a restaurant quik because my sister-in-law was having problems walking, talking. She is diabetic & this is the only one that I found that was close to us. It was a clean place but the food was soso. The eggs we ordered were not cooked the way we wanted them. The potatoes could of cooked longer. The only things that did taste good was the bacon & sausage.

Food was cold & service was scattered & slow but friendly. Went for a late breakfast while staying at the hotel. Overall, Salem restaurants are unprofessional & sloppy imo. It’s a crowded tourist town & seems hospitality workers are over it. This restaurant was no exception. Bins out in view siting on bar chairs. Some bits of trash on the floor. Slow to be greeted, seated, & served. End of breakfast cold food. Pretty space though in general. Disappointed overall experience.

I would really like to have given him to 4.5. The waitress was incredibly awesome her name is Steph. She made a couple of recommendations such as the hash for breakfast and it was as good as she advertised homemade and delicious also had homemade Hollandaise sauce which was very tasty as well. Would recommend the Hawthorne hash Benedict. Do wish there wasn't a fire alarm in the middle of my breakfast kind of ruined it from that aspect but we still paid for it
