Not the same and double the price. The old Salem Lowe created delicious and affordable tender steak and chop suey sandwiches. Today both sandwiches were a disappointment. I understand there are new owners- but I won’t go back.

If you want to succeed an established, wildly successful Chinese restaurant, you don't just keep the name and change everything so that the food is neither Chinese nor anything resembling Asian or 'fusion.' The cooks working the woks speak Spanish, flavor the dishes as though they were making tacos, and the food is either over seasoned or so bland it's unidentifiable. It doesn't even resemble Chinese food. I recently spent $12 on some lo mein that literally was inedible. I threw it out. They don't make dumplings at all. The chow mein is chicken only, and so variable that ordering it is like betting blind. C'mon folks. We really want you to succeed, but for heaven's sake, hire a Chinese cook or send your Hispanic guys to a Chinese cooking class. Go buy some lo mein or chow mein at Mei Lee Express if you want to know what the old Chinese (American Chinese, anyway) food tastes like. Then sell your food as Chinese. Otherwise, you're gonna lose your other disappointed customers the way you've lost me. I've given you 6 chances now....every time a disappointment.

It’s the first time I didn’t finish my food. The tender steak was terrible. The pork fried rice was the same. I’m sorry won’t eat here again and I love this place know more. And the cost went much

New ownership is fantastic. Great food. chop Suey sandwich is so bomb! make sure to get it with crispy wontons for a little crunch.

My first time going here since the new owners and it was pretty bad. The lo mein was horrible - it tasted exclusively of soy sauce. The Peking ravioli filling was over-seasoned and the General Gao's was overly saucy and missing the General Gao's flavors. The only thing that were passable were the crab rangoons which were not as crispy as I would like but the filling was decent. We waited for over 20 minutes for this meal.I liked Salem Lowe for cheap, fresh, Chinese American cuisine that tasted good, but sadly I think that ship has sailed.

Ruined the local legend raised prices food was not close to being edible. Ask for and follow the original recipes or change the name !

Disgusting, I liked the old one! They put whole onions in it and the pork was spicy, Do not recommend

If you buy a local legend then you had better live up to those standards. Instead, they bought a local legend, changed the menu, severely raised prices, changed the ingredients and will most likely not survive another year. Having grown up in the area, Salem Lowe was a destination in itself. You could feed yourself and 2 kids 3 times in the past for what what you charge now. Between the pu pu platter, the combo plate, the Peking ravioli and drinks cost almost $70!! Usually I would kick at the seagulls to keep away from my food but instead, that day, they were fed most of our food as not much of it was fit for human consumption. If the new owners want to fix this, go back to the old menu, go back to the old ingredients, I can see a slight increase in prices but not what they are currently at. Either go back to a winning formula with people lined up or keep the current course and fail. Salem Lowe was amazing, greasy and cheap food not this Chinese bistro that nobody asked for.

Ruined the chop suey sandwich, tender steak sandwich is a disgusting mess, where is the soy sauce???? I know none of this stuff is gourmet cuisine but come on you're telling me you can't make it better than before you had to make it horrible? How about just trying to make it the same it seems that making something that was famous for what it was is impossible for you guys this is a terrible travesty people came here for this food for a very long time it wasn't the best but it certainly wasn't this nastiness!!

The tender steak sandwich was disappointing. The meat reminds me of ground beef and the gravy is way too sweet. Unfortunately I will not return.

To reiterate on the post about the lack of authenticity I was excited to try this place and the service as well as the food were equally under par. They continue to apologize yet clearly continue to produce raw, oily, undercooked food. What I was charged for undercooked chicken fingers, feathered chicken wings and raw dough eggrolls was absurd and excessive. So sad that such a legendary restaurant has gone down the drain. Should have at least changed the name. THIS IS NOT THE LOWES WE KNOW AND LOVED!! AVOID at all cost!

The beef, pepper, onion sandwich was excellent. I think it was much better than the old owners. The price was cheap too. I have to admit that it's the only thing I've ever had there in 45 years.

I grew up coming here with my parents on a regular basis, and most recently for the last 30 years I’ve been coming up on my birthday with my family. I was hoping when the business changed hands, they would have gotten the recipe for the tender beef and the chicken chop Suey from the original owners the chop Suey is close, but something is missing and the tender beef is way too salty not as sweet I’m hoping the new owners can figure it outIf it helps, I froze some of the chop suey and tender beef from the original recipe and the new owners are welcome to take it to a lab and have it reverse engineered lolFingers crossed they figure it out

W1orst food ive had in a longtime. The tender steak was ground up beef. The gravy was awful! It was easy to tell thst neithervthe meat or gravy were fresh. It also tasted burnt. Wasted $27.00 dollard on this. Wish i had of known before taking this quart of inedible food home. Never going back !
